This was a pretty great read. It has fun characters, sexy scenes, a little suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat, and a great romance. I don’t believe much else makes for a great read! The two main characters had a good relationship, had some fun banter back and forth, with some sassiness.
I think the details and descriptions were on par for the story. They weren’t fantastic or mind blowing but I don’t think they were lacking in any way nor did they not provide enough to paint a picture to see what was going on. Sometimes that picture might have been just slightly blurry, but that cleared up really fast.
My biggest issue with the story is it started kind of slow. Now, it’s possible, that it wasn’t slow and it was just my reading at that time. Since our reviews are based on whole numbers, I felt I needed to bump it down to a four, but really would prefer it to have a 4.5. It took me a couple of days to really want to get into the story and once I was far enough in, there was no stopping. The story really took off and I couldn’t pull myself away from reading it. So, be that as it may, regarding a slow start, take it with a grain of salt and give this book a shot. There is a darn good chance you’re really going to enjoy reading the story.

Jody Vitek shares Ryan and Stephanie’s history with her readers. Ryan takes advantage of a coupon offering a special for a shave and facial at the Texas Beauty Salon. Ryan still has interest in Stephanie and is happy when he gets a chance to talk with her as he is leaving the salon. Stephanie encourages him to call her for date.
Ryan’s investigation uncovers a common connection between the robbery victims and Stephanie’s salon that threatens the relationship between them. Vitek adds suspense and intrigue as the story’s momentum increases. Ryan continues to follow clues leading someone at the salon being involved in the robberies. Vitek places her readers on Ryan’s shoulders giving them insight as to what Ryan is thinking and what actions he is taking to prove Stephanie is innocent of any wrong doing with regards to the robberies. The investigation begins to focus on those people responsible for the robberies. Stephanie turns up missing and Ryan is sure she has been kidnapped. Vitek’s TAMING THE TEXAS BEAUTY keeps her readers on edge and holding their breath as the heart-wrenching ending unfolds.
