So technically this is my fifth year with diabetes. The information I was getting was overwhelming and everything after the diagnosis seemed scary. I realized I was moving into a state of denial and inaction. I happened across this book during a search and I'm so glad I did! It's easy to read and puts things into perspective fast. The one thing I need to give up was great advice, as was the tone of the book. As I come across others who are newly diagnosed I will be recommending they read this too.

I bought this for a friend who anticipated gaining insight into her condition. unfortunately , Taming the Tiger has more in common with a pamphlet than a book. it is, in fact, a mini book, with information that you may be able to snag (in pamphlet form) at your doctor's office

Excellent read, very informative and fun too. I bought this for my husband who is a newly diagnosed diabetic. It was very helpful to him and his first question after reading the book was if this author had written any more books. This book was a fast and enjoyable book to read. It was also very uplifting and encouraging. Mr. Dubois has lived this life and has a special talent for educating those who are searching for answers and hope.

If you are newly diagnosed Diabetic,,, this is a FREE book for you that WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE! it is NOT a cure for our illness, however,, this should be required reading for every new type2 person.... the best thing that is said in this is: IN 90 DAYS YOU ARE GOING TO FEEL BETTER THAN YOU HAVE IN 10 YEARS!! i am not one for hocus pocus,, this is just a great way to present the hassle of being diabetic,,,, one other statement for the book is true,,,,, ALL OF THIS IS GOING TO BE OK! ,,, just do what your doctor tells you to do!,,,, just give this book a chance, you will so glad you did..... the last 2 books i read completely was a comic book,, and the Bible...

I was very dissapointed with this book. It is no longer than a magazine article. It's published by Red Blood Cell Books out of Las Vegas in 2009. I wouldn't search out any of their other publications. Go to the David Mendosa site or get the book Blood Sugar 101 if you want real substantial information. The book is 4 1/2 inches x 3 1/2 inches and that's the minimal amount of information. It,s definitely not worth $9.95

Newly diagnosed with diabetes? If you can't take the time to read anything, read this book anyway. It's short, encouraging and gives you the basics of what you need to know to live with diabetes instead of dying with diabetes

This book is funny, informative and a quick read. Wil's kept all the jargon out and packed it full of information that will help anyone who's just been diagnosed with diabetes. Most people with diabetes have type 2, and this book is most appropriate for them. But even folks with type 1 can learn lots here.

I especially like how Wil introduces that most feared topic, diabetes complications or "scary-assed-side-effects". We all know people whose relatives were stricken with various complications. But as he says "Make tiny changes in your eating and activity, and you change your health destiny. You call the shots."

I think this book should be required reading for everyone who's just been told they have diabetes. The information is enough to get you started on the right road. Wil doesn't hold anything back, but he provides you with a great set of rules for starting your life with diabetes.

Disclaimer: Wil gave me a copy of his book, and I read it without any expectations. I'm thankful I had a chance to learn the basics again after 36 years with diabetes.
