I purchased this lens here in Shanghai for my Nikon on the weekend and took some shots in French Concession. What surprised me instantly was the VC. I could take pin sharp shots down to 1/2.5s and this handheld. The AF worked fast, reliable and silent too. Bokeh? From my comparison better than with the VRII. Sharpness in general? Center sharpness at 70mm and 200mm comparable to the VRII, at 135mm even better and this at f/2.8. And much sharper in the croners and this at all focal lengths. Really impressive. Focus breathing is an issue but in reality it is not because the focus distance has been reduced to 0.91m what makes it more than up. All in all a top performer, especially at this price. Highly recommendable lens. And I am sure that will become an issue for Nikon now with their crazy pricing for the Nikkor 70-200mm FL version.
