Tanya who was a globe-trotting humanitarian but has given it up to spend more time with Cole has taken up roller derby to pass the time while he works and is trying to find a way to entice her husband to be more passionate and open with her. But she is afraid to share her innermost thoughts for fear that Cole will reject her…..mean while…..
Terrorists invade the Olympic village but Cole and the SWAT teams try to take them down but they somehow escape and end up at the “Warehouse” where the roller derby is being played. Tanya happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and becomes one of many hostages. Now she has to figure out a way to let Cole know what is happening so he and his teams can save them before all h*ll breaks loose….
Can Cole and his teams get there in time to save everyone including his wife????
Such intrigue, twists, turns and heart pounding suspense will keep you reading until the very last page! !
Well done, Sidney Bristol ! ! !
I think what I enjoyed most about this story was the realism and relatability of Tanya and Cole. Reading from each POV was enlightening, and even helped me to look at my own marriage through a different lens. Some of Cole's thoughts had never even occurred to me, but as I read them I was impressed by the raw honesty and genuineness of his apprehensions. These characters were complex and so real.
The fact that this story is about a married couple is particularly note-worthy. Marriage does not exempt us from the inevitable miscommunications, or total lack of communication, encountered in so many relationships. Relationships take work, and regardless of the love holding them together, failure to connect in a meaningful way can spell the doom of the best of them.
I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
