I think anything smaller than this sized basket is not enough. This is big enough to easily cook meals for 2-4 people.
Using it - it pre heats quickly. You can set the time and temperature on the front of the air fryer.
Results - Does it come close to food tasting “fried”? Yes and no. For the things I’ve cooked it in so far, it tastes like it was baked and then fried on the outside. This is OK with me as the amount of oil I’ve used has gone down a lot.
There are pre set menu options, I have not tried those yet and have picked all the temperatures and times manually.
The non stick coating for the basket is great. I have not had anything stick in the air fryer.
Foods I’ve cooked:
- Chicken wings: wow I can get very close to fried chicken and only need to baste the wings in olive oil. They come out very crispy.
- Chicken breasts: very juicy and evenly cooked.
- Salmon filets: 8 min cook time and the filets are perfect.
- Sweet potato fries: need to soak the piece in water before cooking. You need to do this to get rid of the starch. The first time I did not soak them in water and they came out soggy. The next two time I soaked the sweet potato fries in water for 20-30 min and then air fried them and they came out crispier. Still have not managed to get the deep fried texture.
- Flank steak: equivalent to cooking steak on a cast iron. Very juicy.
- Brussel sprouts: the crispiest I’ve ever had. I will no longer be making Brussels in a cast iron.
- Croissant: did not make them fresh, just reheated some store bought ones. Made the croissant flaky like it was just baked.
Don’t think about getting an air fryer, just do it and you’ll appreciate the new possibilities that you can cook.

My first test, a classic deep fried food, chicken wings... I couldn't believe it... I even tried with the wings still frozen... (Frozen I used 4 extra minutes for those wings you see on that plate)... WOW...
2nd test... Regular potatoes and sweet potato fries.... Same thing perfectly cooked... Side note, on the sweet potatoes, i sprayed with cooking oil to add crispiness because there are more dense and retain more water than regular potatoes.
I tried also another deep fried food... Breaded jalapeno poppers (frozen), and I've also sprayed with cooking oil (note that I am saying sprayed, not dripping)... Same results... perfectly cooked and crispy...
This model is very easy to clean up, it is not messy at all... It came with a recipes booklet as well and for sure I'll be trying them!!
My main reason also for choosing this brand and not a different one is because I have been using taotronics products for several years and the quality and support is top of the line, I only had a problem with headphones after a year of using it and their warranty is 18 months, they replaced them without giving me hard time at all. The company stands behind their products and quality as I mentioned before.
And yes... I'm an air fryer converted person now!!

One time use of this air fryer and I was sold. Reheat McDonald's nuggets and fries? YES. Sear some steak and finish it in the air fryer in 7 minutes? YES. Crisp vegetables instead of attempting to stir fry on a sad electric stove? YES.
Great things I've noticed: my apartment doesn't smell as bad after cooking oily foods. Easy to clean up the device since the splatters are all contained in one area versus all over the stovetop. The nonstick surface makes it easy for the food to wash off. The front panel is simple to navigate to the right setting, and the ones I've tried for chicken and steak have been fairly spot on (plus/minus a few minutes depending on serving size vs reheating items). Good basket size for a decent portion as well. Fits on the countertop and takes up less space than my toaster oven.
Would be good to get reheating function instead of the cooking function, but I just take it out a few minutes early and its perfect.

Upon unboxing, the instructions were very simple. Also included a cooking booklet which is useful. A notable difference from the traditional oven is it does not require preheating, so cooking time is reduced. The touch screen is instantly responsive. There are various cooking/baking settings which are quite handy. The instruction booklet gives you information on each setting, time/temperature.
I have tried fresh chips that cooked very well, fried chicken and marinated chicken drumsticks that were moist and full of flavour! Roast potatos cook well in about 20 mins. The amount of oil required for cooking is very less compared to the oven. Though it cook food evenly I would recommend to push the basket out and shake the content in-between. It's a good way to see how the food is coming along and literally takes a couple of seconds.
Finally it is extremely easy to clean both part of the tray with just hot soapy water, there are no difficult to reach areas. There is a locking mechanism between the basket and the base which is nice. The basket is non-stick and looks lasting. If you have a very big family probably, you may end up with multiple batch cooking. In addition, the unit is around 10 lbs, it could be little heavy for someone, so make sure to carry it with care. Overall, we are happy with the product.
It is easy to learn how to use. The touch screen is instantly responsive & the size compacity is great! There are also various cooking/baking settings & that is great! The instruction booklet gives you informations on each setting, time/temperature suggestions & recipes.
I was worried about cleaning jobs, but so far it’s ok for non-stick pot with aluminum paper.
I use this air fryer to make two times chicken wings what I bought from Asda. there were very good cooking experiences with this one, my all family like those chicken wings so much and just easy setting up time and making something else before food done.
It works great so far for me. 👍

The build and design is great. While it is all plastic, it feels tight and solid. The controls are responsive and easy to follow. The machine has the following features; dehydrate, air broil, air grill, air fry, bake, air sauté and air roast. While these feature may function similar, in certain meals, it can make all the difference. I’ll get to that a little later. Selecting an option from the machine itself, it is pre-programmed. For example, selecting chips, it is set to cooked at 200 degrees. So within reason, you can just follow that and you will mostly be ok. The cookbook that comes with it is nice. Has a lot of ideas to use. But the setting differ from the pre-programmed setting on the machine. In the book, chips is recommended to be cook on 190 degrees.
Cooking performance is very very good. Hardly can fault it. Cooked fresh coconut coated prawns perfectly. The coating was crisp and prawns were nice and juicy. Cooked a whole chicken and it also came out perfect. You can pull the bone off with ease. The chips cooked well. We opted to use the book instructions instead. We decided on this because the chips were thick, wanted to ensure it cooked fully. We also cooked lamp, the result was mixed. It was tender but most of the moisture was gone. This is where the cooking feature differ. Initially we used air fry I believe. Second time round we used the air broil. Better result but we feel the oven gave a better result. I will give the lamp one more shot. Try a different technique. That’s really how you need to use this machine. The pre set configuration is a generic guide, not factoring quantity and size of the portion. You need to make that judgement. Trial and error.
The size is perfect for a family of 4. Easily cooked a medium sized chicken. Cleaning it is very easy. From experience, never leave the grease to settle over night. Clean it as soon as possible. It will be easier to clean and prolong the life of non-stick layer.

It uses a fraction of the oil, has preset modes to help me in the cooking process but most importantly for me it creates fantastic crispy food, especially the chips / fries. I often find oven cooked chips are crispy on the outside and hard on the inside, or alternatively soggy. The air fryer seems to cook perfect chips every time. Fluffy inside and crunchy outside. It's great for other foods such as chicken, steak and even making a healthy breakfast. Bacon and even egg comes out perfectly in this.
Overall really happy with the device and feels its a great way to improve my diet without completely removing the foods I enjoy.
