UPDATE:
Customer service contacted me and told me this item is covered by 12-month warranty so they are shipping me new speakers. They said it is rare for these speakers to break down like this so I might've gotten a defected one. Wow I'm boosting this review to 5 stars for now for their quick response and service and keep it 5 stars if the second speaker works well!

I got this product in June. I read so many reviews on so many Bluetooth speakers and I thought this would be perfect for the price. Maybe I got a defected one or something, but when I first got this, the speaker kept taking a long time to turn on and connect to my phone. I thought this is normal so I kept it since I liked the audio quality. However, within 2 months, the speaker's Bluetooth stopped working. No big deal, I didn't like waiting to connect to my phone anyway so I started using the AUX cord. A couple of uses later, the speaker started to make static noises every time I plugged in the AUX cord. It was subtle at first but now it's really loud. Still NO BIG DEAL, I'm not picky with audio quality. As long as my music was loud, I couldn't hear the static noise. But within the last few weeks, my speaker stopped working with the AUX cord. Now I tried to connect to Bluetooth again but that doesn't work at all anymore. I'm so bummed. The design is sleek and I really liked the audio at first, but I can't believe this didn't last long at all :(

Fantastic!! Makes you question how it's possible something so small explodes in sound. Everyone should have at least one of these. I have much bigger,and more expensive speakers, but this one gets employed all the time.TaoTronics bluetooth technology and execution is superior to all my other devices.It just always shows up and pairs up. No hassle ever. Just awesome performance. I resist putting qualifiers on these. They don't deserve it. I have 400 dollar speakers that resist discovery and pairing. These are effortless. I urge TaoTronics to give the world more models. I'm really excited about trying the big brother of these. I'm actually afraid they'll show up the speakers I have spent 8 times more on. Lately I've been employing these in the wired mode. They're are great at testing speaker locations. I have also been experimenting with using these as a reflecting source. I see great potential in using these as part of a musical surround arrangement.Good results with these behind and facing backwards at an angle. They can produce a sense of depth and space to the music. Thank you TaoTronics! This model is a winner. Don't even hesitate buying these. At their price, consider it a gift. Jay

For the size of this speaker, it is absolutely amazing. I believe the same internals are using in the premium Anker speaker, as well as several other brands. The housing is what really makes them different. These have a pretty massive sound for the size of the unit. I honestly wish there was a separate "subwoofer" output on it just so I could connect it to an external subwoofer for "extra" under my desk bass. The bass on these is great for their size. The mids are fantastic. Treble on small speakers is usually always there, but this is also really good because it is clear and not all washed out. Clarity on lows, mids and highs are really good considering the size of these speakers.

These sound really, really good when watching movies. They sound pretty good when listening to music. For the money, you cannot go wrong here. There is another identical unit available in Germany under another brand for about $30... I cannot remember the branding on that product though.

The only thing I would love to see here is the ability to pair up two of these as separate left and right channel receivers.

This is a surprisingly good quality product that has quickly become a vital part of my music and audiobook listening. It has an aluminum body and is well made. It comes in a nice box that i use to transport to different locations. This speaker has deep base and great sound quality. I pair this with the new Amazon Fire Tv stick with Alexa and can carry the speaker and fire remote up to 50 feet away. Try taking the speaker and fire tv remote out on your deck so you can change music artists. I don't have a soundbar for my bigscreen in my bedroom so i use this speaker to significantly enhance the sound quality of the television. If you enjoy audiobooks like i do, then pair this with your tablet or phone and it makes the voices sound amazing. I carry the speaker all around my place so i can listen to audiobooks in the shower or in the kitchen while preparing dinner. You will not be disappointed at the quality and warranty. I plan on purchasing a couple more for my parents so they can use with their Alexa firesticks.

I gave one star for the initial review of this product because the sound became muffled and distorted after 5 days of light usage. But I am now glad to say that Taotronics has gone above and beyond to rectify my initial first impression.

After leaving the one star review, the company contacted me and shipped me a free speaker. It has been working well for the past month and half. The sound is more than what you pay for. The design is top notch. The quality is without reproach. However, I recommend you buy a carrying case if you are going to travel with it. I did not and I regret it.

However, I could not possibly give it 5 star because every time you turn on or turn off this product it makes a very annoying sound. Why??? Why can't it turn on and off silently??? Why don't I have the option to turn off that sound???
