Normally I do not read this genre. I liked the characters and did find it nice to have a woman lead character, although I don't need that all the time to enjoy fiction. I felt the plot was exciting and not so predictable that it was dull or anything. I was disappointed by the number of typographical errors in the published version. Over all, the story was good in terms of both plot and characterization.
This story is another nail-biting ride, with lots of thought-provoking issues raised. Not one to shy away from social issues, LJ Sellers researches cutting-edge, controversial topics and weaves them into absorbing stories with fascinating, very real characters. Like in The Trigger, which opened my eyes to the fragility of our planet and the dangers of technology in the wrong hands, this story explores the seedy side of medical research and the biotech industry. Even Sellers' characters are unique, as in agent Carla Rivers, who lived most of her life as Carl Rivers.
Sellers challenges us to think about social issues, and she always entertains with one engrossing story after another! Definitely another 5-star read from this talented police procedural and mystery-suspense author.
Agent Dallas continues her undercover work and comes close to death but manages to survived.
We also have hope some of her personal demons are being resolved.
Now to read the third book in this series and hope L.J. Sellers will continue writing more Agent Dallas books.
Have enjoyed her Detective Jackson series and happy she continues to write such great books.
