This weird wonder is yet another variation on a familiar theme: a laptop desk for a laptop computer that protects the user from excessive heat. My 11" Mac Air was throwing out a wilting degree of heat (due, I discovered, to my preference for a screen at the brightest setting). This curious apparatus was partially effective, at least, in dissipating heat and lowering my body temperature.
It looks a bit more complicated than it actually is. Since no instructions are included, here's the simple deal: 1. you can fold the 2 halves together and place the computer on top of both, two layers removed from your epidermis (or pants or pajamas); 2. you can leave the 2 halves open (as shown in the picture) and place the bottom of the computer on one half, with the computer's top half, or cover, opened against the other half of the lapdesk.
Apparently, this lapdesk was not a hit with customers (though at its current deeply discounted price it appears to be doing fairly brisk sales for Amazon). No guarantee it'll be the ticket for many users, but there's more to be gained than lost in giving it a whirl. It definitely reduces, while not eliminating, heat. And there are no whirring, battery or USB-powered "fans" to fuss with and discourage use altogether.

Very Spacious LapDesk; Uncomfortable Wrist Cushion

This is spacious lap desk that is unfortunately just too uncomfortable to use. I've been trying to use this for a few months now, and I can only really do so for an hour at a time. The wrist cushion is the main complaint I have; it is quite hard and also happens to be non-removable, so you're stuck with it.
For reference, I am using a 15" laptop (MacBook Pro), and it fits just fine with ample space to also use a mouse. There is a built in mousepad-type surface, and its replicated on both sides - allowing for use by left or right-handed people. If you don't use a mouse with your laptop, then the extra space can be used for your phone, etc. The cushions underneath the desk are large (which allows for more air flow between your lap and the desk surface).
But again, I would pass on this because the wrist cushion is just too uncomfortable - there's almost no padding at all. If you want to see/feel one in person before making a purchase, I've seen them for sale at Barnes & Noble.

I had high hopes for this laptop desk.
It says it will go up to the 15.5 inch laptop. Well that's what mine is and yes it I guess sort of fits, but it doesn't stay on it.
Every time I move, my laptop slides off. If I didn't need the mouse tray, I wouldn't use this at all, and return it.
I'm not sure however if it's just the way my computer is, or if it is the way this desk is.
The edges on the desk are smooth and rounded, not having any of the gripping surface.
I'm thinking if it had that, my laptop wouldn't slide.
It has 2 very large strips of grip surface on the board and then in the middle nothing.
My laptop has little rubber feet on each corner and that's all.
I think in order to get the"no slide" effect I want/need, I'm going to have to either find a non slip mat to cover the entire surface of the desk,
or non slip strips to cover either the edges of the desk or laptop.
We do have the older name brand version of this, it was/is perfect! They discontinued it however. SAD!
If you have a smaller laptop, I'm sure this will work out beautifully.
Great price!! Great concept!! Very handy, lightweight, won't slip off your lap.
Also the mouse tray slides to either side, so south paw's can use this in comfort as well.
I wish this worked better for my laptop so I could give it a higher rating.
I just don't know if the issues are due to my model of computer or this desk. For that reason,
I only give it 3 stars. I will amend this review if I do find later that it's not the desk.

I love this. I needed something to balance my laptop and mouse like this does to ease up the pressure and discomfort of my wrists when I'm on my laptop. I love that it's sturdy and strong so even if it falls it won't crack. The mousepad is big and roomy. The cute little slits at the tip for cellphones or other things is a nice touch. Overall it's what I expected. It allows air to flow through and it hold my laptop (13" MacBook Pro late 2015) perfectly. It doesn't allow it to slide off because the little caps at the bottom of the laptop fit perfectly in the holes.
If you need something simple and stylish go with this one. Yo can use it for other things as well.

It is a good concept, but needs work in my opinion. It is light weight and has plenty of room. I like the separate area for the mouse and holder for your phone. However, they do not work as designed;
1. It leans too far forward, due to the different sized pads underneath.
2. The mouse pad area needs some type of raised bumper or border, as the mouse is constantly sliding off the desk and falling every time I move.
3. The phone holder is not deep enough, so the phone is constantly falling out or over, and not wide enough to put your phone in sideways.

Just got this today and pretty happy with it.
Pros:
Size is perfect for a 15.6" laptop
Wrist rest helps keep the mouse/laptop from sliding off
Padding on the bottom is comfortable and keeps the laptop at a comfortable angle
Slip proof up until almost 45 degree angle it seems
Lightweight
Cons:
Wrist rest is harder than I expected. Seems to be a solid piece covered with some thin padding
More expensive than other lapdesks
Update:
Took another star off the rating the wrist rest is now completely flat under my wrist which makes it even more uncomfortable to use for extended periods of time. Anyone looking for a lapdesk for gaming for extended periods will want to look into another option either with now wrist rest or one that is completely padding instead of the hard plastic this one has.
Update 2:
Completely removed the wrist rest. Hoping to replace it with something soft instead of what they used.
