But back to Untamed Hero. I totally fell in love with the book’s namesake, Hero Hernandez. He’s masculine, sexy and emotionally vulnerable, a quality you don’t see often enough in erotic romance. He also has his pride. Having gotten tangled up with a predatory older woman, Margarite, he’s just decided he’s tired of being used as her sex toy as the story opens. Immediately thereafter he’s confronted by Margarite’s college-aged daughter, Dani, who of course assumes the worst about the handsome young man she finds in her mom’s shower. Sparks of attraction ignite between them despite their bad beginning, and Hero tells his friend Brady, “I’m screwed man. I saw her and it was like a shot to the heart. Pow. You know what I’m saying?” (This is the point where I fell for Hero.)
It takes Dani a little longer to admit she’s smitten with Hero, and she hates the idea that she might be competing with her mom for his affections. You’ll enjoy the story of how they work things out, especially the love scenes, which Tara Mills describes so sublimely. It’s another five-star review from me, and I can hardly wait for book three in this sizzling series.
Tarnished Hero, Book 2 of the Pelican Series is an engaging read. First you fall in love with the characters, the wounded Hero and the unable to settle Danica, then with the ocean (though an awesome foe or friend), and islands. It is a sensual read that will have you turning pages. A quick little read with will have you waiting for the next in the series.
Five out of five fairy kisses for this reader.
Want to discover more and is in the mood for a bit of a steamy beach side summer read or a curl up in front of the fireplace or relax in a hot bath depending which side of the world you are on ?
Then check out Tarnished Hero by Tara Mills.
Enter Danica Strauss, his cougar's daughter, who intrigues him from the moment he sees her. But how do you convince the daughter you're interested when you meet her for the first time coming out of her mother's shower?
Tara Mills knows how. She leads the reader and her finely drawn characters through both Dani and Hero's complicated process of coming to terms with Marguerite. It's a fun and easy read with engaging characters and a peek into the lives of the couple from Book 1.
