A few of the cards have slight variations from the Raider-Waite Tarot ... for example, the 10 of Swords shows the picture of the Swords piercing through a sheet or blanket that is lying on the ground, but the cat has escaped ... perhaps not however, before first using one of his nine lives!? It kind of gives a slightly different feel than the "standard" meaning.
A cat has been added in the Ace cards. How fun! In the Ace of Coins card for instance, the cat is pouncing on the coin which to me, not only gives the meaning of a potentially good opportunity involving money but also that the opportunity should be pounced on! (I love it!) And in the Ace of Rods the cat is "digging his claws" into the staff (or rod). You can work that one out for yourself. At any rate, the variations are wonderful and give additional meaning to the cards.
The backs of the cards are also beautiful showing a blue background bordered with an ornate golden frame. A white cat sits in each of two golden chalices that are stem to stem on the card. Beautiful!
I would definitely recommend this deck to anyone and especially to cat lovers!
Unlike with some other decks, both the major and minor arcana depict scenes. They are very detailed so you may want to go with your own feelings to interpret your drawing, as the accompanying booklet is very limited. The interpretations given for each card sound more like fortune cookies than anything! For interpretation, I recommend using a documented book along, such as that by Laura Tuan (unfortunately apparently not translated in English) that gives the general meaning of each card, and an interpretation in various fields (love, business, person, money...) as well as reverse meanings. I still give this deck 5 stars for its beauty.
I have been blessed by two unforgettable white cats in my lifetime. They, along with my love of tarot and for all cats drew me to purchase this deck.
This deck reads very easily, as it is set up in the traditional Rider-Waite fashion.
It is a great deck to use for querents who may be intimidated by darker decks or decks with more traditional imagery on them, for querents who are not as familiar with the tarot. For some querents, a lighthearted deck with cats is just the right deck!
In every card in this deck, white cats rule the day.
The Fool is a wonderful card. It shows a dog as The Fool, about to step over a cliff with a small cat following him in the traditional role of the dog on the Rider-Waite deck.
In The Empress, a white cat is seated in a golden throne, while several cute kittens play at her feet.
The Wheel of Fortune shows a white cat turning a wheel with four mice scampering on it.
The Moon depicts a white cat holding up the Moon with her reflection in it.
In Judgment a white cat blows a trumpet as five winged cats rise up.
The Ace of Wands shows a white cat scratching a tree (wand). Adorable!
The cards are bordered in gold with a running cat pattern.
The backs are reversible in a cute motif: a cat taking a bath in a golden cup with water spilling from it. Or perhaps it is milk?
There are many beautiful cards in this deck. It is a beautiful collectible tarot. If you are a lover of cats, white cats in particular, or you are looking for a lighter illustrated deck to use with querents, this is an excellent choice.
2009...i have since used these cards for "reading" young people-they are splendid! Reading pre teens and teens is "difficult"-these were perfect! (i 'worked" a TWILIGHT book release where i work, and these cards were just EXCELLANT!)

Delightful artwork based on the Rider-Waite deck, so it's very easy to read. The art is colorful but not overly cutsy. I love cats and I love this deck! Read morePublished on February 19, 2009 by S. Guerrero
