I saw Bombadil and wanted to hear more than just the one song "Marriage" before seeing them. So glad I bought this cd. They're great in concert and just as good recorded. The standout songs are "Marriage", "Kuala Lumpur" "Sad Birthday", "Honeymoon", "25 Daniels", and "Matthew". Also "Kate and Kelsey" is very catchy. If you like free wheeling indy rock, earnest lyrics that aren't always accessible, good voices and instrumentation, listen to Bombadil. Hope to hear much more from them.

I bought this album for "Honeymoon" but wanted to hear some of their other tracks.

Aside from "HoneyMoon" this album is entirely boring. I'm sitting here listening to it for the 5th time (to make sure I got a good feel for it) and am fighting off the urge to sleep.

Save yourself the money and buy "Honeymoon" separately from the album. There's nothing else worth it on the album; especially since these people are entirely unknown. Don't believe me on the album being a snore fest? Try out the very first song.

For those curious, the vinyl version is the full blown package described on their website. I wasn't sure if this was a stripped down version but it is not. Wonderful album and sounds great on vinyl. One of my favorites of all time, would love to see Bombadil live. Never have but they never tour Texas!

Bombadil is a case study in modern musical genius. Each band member plays several instruments, songs, and writes. The album is varied and full of surprises. Honeymoon, in particular, is one of the greatest songs ever written.

I remember seeing this band in the Armadillo Grill at Duke University my freshman year. They were a raw, undeveloped bunch. With this recording, they demonstrate what flights of musical fancy can accomplish. Each song has a distinct personality and layers of instrumentation, harmony, and thoughtful lyrics. The listener can glean the depth of the band's effort from the recording, while the music retains its core playfulness so characteristic of Bombadil's music.
