This one is good. The pleats are nice. It looks good on me. In some ways, it even looks nicer on me than the usual utilikilts I wear.
However, it's not quite as comfortable, particularly how the waist snaps are so far apart as to ride awfully close to my hip bones. Also, the saddlebag pockets are not as large as I'm used to. That's a bit of personal choice, but with no back pockets, fitting in my usual array of pocket-gear was a little tight.
Still, for a third the cost of a new utilikilt, it's a good deal.
I would recommend this kilt to anyone who needs a kilt with pockets! It is an Irish kilt as it is mono-colored, but that is not a concern for me.
Unfortunately, despite the few times he's worn it and the light use it's received, the stitching is beginning to fray at several seams. It's always been washed and dried according the label's directions. This is disappointing. And even if it were able to be shipped back for replacement, international shipping to countries overseas from the US cost roughly the same as purchasing a whole new kilt.
When they say measure around navel they mean it, if you want a proper fit follow the directions.

I took it with me to the festival, I lost my bottle and didn't wear it on the first day but I regained confidence on the second day and wore it. Being a typical festival crowd, I was not even in the running for standing out so not that many people noticed, the girl in the silver sequin dress got a lot more attention than me! In the end one guy did ask why the kilt, so I told him about the extra comfort over trousers / shorts, the fact that the material does not seem to pull on your thighs, the freedom of movement for other "bits" 8-) ........
Which leads me to my question, why don't more men wear kilts?
One point, though, which isn't the fault of the design or the seller, is that the colour of the kilt is completely out of fashion at present. The kilt is a genuine British (or should that be Indian?) khaki, which is slightly more greeny-brown than American khaki. That colour is closer to beige than British khaki is. Despite visiting a range of physical and on-line shops, including military surplus stores, I've not found an exact colour match as regards shirts, t-shirts, hoodies or sweatshirts. In practice, this isn't a problem as the colour goes well with black, navy, dark brown and I'm sure several other colours, but it's a slight limitation.
It's well made, very durable fabric. Utility pockets practicle and multiple, but not too many to lose things in.
After ordering the 36" which didn't fit, (needed more than 2") the 40" was ordered. Much more expansive and may become too big for the new man it's kindled in him!
Olive utility/wilderness kilt purchased as a more subdued alternative to my Tartanista black one when camping.
It arrived well packaged and was earlier than expected date. It also had return labels pre-printed (I suppose they must have a lot of returns due to difference in trouser and kilt waist. Read the instructions, no need for return).
I love the kilt, it is well constructed with solid stitching. The size is perfect.
Cheap for this quality.
it will serve its purpose for now but I'll not be using these guys again.
