I never thought it would come to this, but it was time to put the TaskOne G3 Pro to use. I pulled the 5" ruler with 1/8" graduations out of the discrete case attached to my phone. I placed the ruler against my phone and measured its viewable area. Yes, it was indeed 4.54" tall which was nearly 2" shorter than the iPhone 6 -- the only justification I needed to destroy my only potential means of communication. If I ever get out of this mess, I will get the iPhone 6.
If I am to survive the night, I will need a fire. With any luck, my phone screen would be my salvation. But before I got started, I pulled out the wire cutters from the TaskOne G3 Pro. Yes, these will do. It had been over a week since I cut my toenails. There. If my body was to be discovered frozen in the darkness of Yosemite Park, I would not have the archaeologists confuse me with a neanderthal.
Just as I pulled out the Phillips screwdriver, only one of 22 stainless steel tools packed into the TaskOne G3 Pro, I heard a sound in the distance. I positioned the screwdriver, seconds away from disassembling my phone, when I heard it again.
"Yes, I do have an Allen wrench -- 6 in fact!" I responded automatically before realizing that I may have been saved. It was the first human sound I had heard in nearly 4 hours. I tried to stand but fell back to my knees and broke down crying in a deep embrace with my TaskOne G3 Pro.
The voice was behind me.
"Allen, what the hell are you doing?"
I felt a hand on my shoulder. Was it really a human or just a very clever black bear? I whipped out the 2.5" serrated knife from my TaskOne G3 Pro.
"The tour bus is about to leave for dinner. Let's go."
I spun around and jumped onto my feet. It was only my brother Michael. As I sat on the bus rumbling through the outback, I recalled that I used to get pissed about the 6mm of thickness the TaskOne G3 Pro added to my phone, but not anymore, NOT anymore.
