I also tried the carrot and the ice cream sandwich. I made a first run of some of the patterns which was essentially my rough draft, then I made a 2nd run. The second runs came out great!!
I gave some of my first runs to my children (12, 9, & 7) which found them cute and enjoyable to pretend play with. Then I gave some of my other first runs to a toddler I know which also enjoyed them greatly!! The only recommendation I have is when you do some of the stitching on the food items make sure that the stitching is secure especially if you are planning on giving them to a younger child!!
Overall I am very pleased with this book because.....the food looks good enough to eat!!!
I have used many of the patterns to make my own from them, combining the best of different aspects for same an ice cream cone or donut and then adding my own touches to that.
Well, when I was flipping thru this book, I found so many kool ideas that ARE NOT in other places! Like the pita and falaful sandwich! My hubby thought that idea was one of the best he has seen my look at lately!
The patterns are all well written and most can be completed in an evening if you are used to crochetting or 1 day if not. Definitely a book work getting :)
