Enjoyable chick flick
It’s a nice Russian soap mini series. Very authentic details for the 80s Moscow Olympic Games and leading actress is very convincing. On the other side, the plot is rather schematic and it’s naive uneven portraying of KGB is quite facinating. Totally worth binge watching but please don’t build ANY conclusions based on Tatyana’s Night - it’s work of fiction. I’ve read on a similar series here lengthy rant on Putin and liberalism and was laughing. Next stage will be to judge Russian history based on animated movie Anastasia.

1980s Soviet reality.
Having lived and worked in moscow 1980-83 this film brings back alot of memories, good and bad. It was a soulless communist regime that ordinary soviets had to survive every day just to get through life.
The film conveys the reality of the days when even the ability to buy needed medicines was considered a privilege, when the communist party took care of its own and left the rest of society to fend for itself, in much the same way that Putin today takes care of his oligarchs and sycophants, with too many ordinary Russians paying the price.

Disappointing Russian soap opera
The acting is okay, but the writing is miserable. There are lot's of great Russian crime dramas on Prime, but this isn't one of them.

Soviet Soap Opera
If you are a nice American, it might be hard for you to watch how horrible people behave towards each other. They do it just because.
The details of Soviet life we're very accurate and reminded me of the worst parts if my childhood.
If you are interested in a demographic journey to USSR circa 1980, these miniseries are for you.

Good russian drama
This is a nicely done TV drama series set in the 1980s. The actress is beautiful and the story is interesting. It nicely shows the desperation of the people under communist rule. The party bosses and their wives choose to make or break ordinary citizens lives. It is heartbreaking to see how a person's life is turned upside down in just a few days. It is hard for people to go through these experiences and still be open to love. Worth a watch.

Sort of sad series
I think this series reflects what was really going on in County during that time. It's very sad honestly. I am glad it had happy ending though. Great watch when you have time. Hard to watch for people who doesn't understand Russian though...

-LIKE A FIZZLED OUT FIRECRACKER
Eight binge worthy episodes that fizzled out in episode nine. Confident that the plot was leading up to something in a second season, this viewer faithfully absorbed every detail. This series ended with a very dry summary monologue that leaves this viewer with the question, "Why did I binge watch this?"

GREAT MOVIE!
This was an eye opening Russian movie that shows the way local, regional and national government intimidate and pressure citizens to control their citizens lives and not allow the citizens basic freedom or moral rights. It is sad to see how people end up abusing each other because of how the government forces them to react with disrespect or empathy for family, friends, coworkers and the public in general. It really makes citizens of western countries realize how lucky we are to be free and not controlled and manipulated in our daily lives. I am proud to be a U.S. citizen and have so much empathy for people that live in Socialist controlled countries. To think today, the U.S. Democratic party is embracing Socialism as a better form of Government vs Capitalism is ridiculous.

This movie has great acting, an excellent story and is very compelling in showing how Socialism is very cruel for citizens that must live under such barbaric government rule. Thank you Amazon Prime for making this available to Prime Customers.
