  • Movable Weight Technology (MWT, LEFT) allows you to tune the driver's center of gravity to promote a draw or neutral ball flight. Putting the 1-gram weight in the heel and the 10-gram weight in the toe moves the CG toward the toe, making the R11 neutral to promote a neutral, or straight ball flight.
  • The contrast between the white crown and black clubface makes it easy to align the R11S Driver accurately at address. The matte white finish eliminates hot spots and glare to promote improved focus. The white head looks larger to promote more confidence and a fast, free swing speed.

I only play golf a handful of time a year and have clubs that are ten years plus old. I played with a friend (who is also left handed) and he was crushing his drives. After about three holes he offered to let me hit his club. I was hitting a reliable King Cobra (that was great 10 plus years ago). I was astounded in technology. I added thirty yards to my drives and he let me use the club the rest of the game. He bought his at a local sporting goods store about a year ago for four hundred dollars. Needless to say when I saw the club on Amazon for almost half the price, I clicked and ordered immediately. Been to the driving range a couple of times and still astounded with the extra distance this club adds to my game. Very pleased.

Great driver with a large sweet spot. The driver can be adjusted to change the loft and even compensate slightly for a consistent hook or slice in your shot. The driver is super light and allows you to generate tremendous speed to the club head.

First things First. I'm a Taylor Made guy. Amongst serious golfers there are Taylor Made guys, Titleist guys, Callaway guys etc. Any serious golfer or professional will tell you to go and get fit for clubs especially the Driver. Yet few actually do it. The USGA put limits on what manufacturers could do with driver heads so there really has been no major technological advances in driver heads for several years. So when a golfer or manufacturer tells you their new club is 10-20 yards longer, be suspect. What Taylor made did several years ago was introduce "adjustable" drivers. The competition pooh poohed the idea but now virtually all are following suit. Start with the understanding that the majority of golfers play too low a loft ( They don't have the swing speed). The R-11s allows the golfer to adjust the "effective"loft of the driver plus or minus one and one half percent either way .So a 10.5 driver can be "tuned" by the user to play between 9 and 11.5 degrees. This is done by adjusting the face angle open or closed . Although not really a true loft adjustment, it works OK. Next comes the shaft. The stock shaft on the R11s is a pretty good stock shaft. No better or worse than the stock shaft on the competition. Where a player can really fine tune the club (or any driver) is by going to a clubfitter and getting fit for a premium shaft (Figure $150-$400 or more). Again most golfers are never going to do this. So off the rack the R11s is as good a driver for the average golfer as there is on the market. There's a reason Taylor Made owns the market in this regard. Right out of the box the golfer can fool arounnd with the loft and lie adjustment (Standard or upright) and to some extent "Fine Tune" his purchase.Read more ›

A friend has this club and I tried it on a couple holes and liked it. He let me borrow if a couple rounds and I loved it. I told him and I still think that the balance of the club encourages me to slow down and not overswing. It really helps you let the club do the work. He has used the adlustments to help reduce his slice - I use it as it was delivered (all neutral) settings and am thrilled with it.

I added another 10-15 yards and have eliminated my slice. I am a 12 handicap and drive 230-260 depending upon the day. This is the best Taylor Made driver I ever bought (I've had 3). I don't chase technology. I bought this after the new R-1 came out. I didn't need the balzier for another $150. I paid $239 for this and feel I got a gread deal.

The driver is just plain fun. I've adjusted it several times (surely it can't be me at fault), and have finally found the right loft and cant that suits me. Amazingly, the white face shows no signs of mishits or wear.

This driver is not much of an improvement on my 07 Burner driver. Seems to have a more pronounced draw. I am still tinkering with the adjustments. If I get good contact, the ball really travels. if not it just seems to die off the face (unlike my Burner).

My purchase was everything I expected, it came quickly and in good shape. The only thing that would have been better if it came with a head cover and tool for the price.
