The most beautiful thing about this driver is that it conforms to YOU. You do not have to conform to the driver. Of course, you will need several buckets of balls on the range and some patience and free time to adjust the specifics of the club. Additionally, I would recommend buying some additional TaylorMade weights to match the club to your needs.

I was playing a Callaway Diablo, great driver, 250 yards, nice and straight (when my swing was correct). I am hitting the R11 270-280 straight after about 5 buckets of range balls and some personal frustration getting it set up.

Thoughts on loft - don't think you're a professional and go setting the loft to 8*. Try it with everything set to neutral first. Get the loft set before moving on to anything else.

Next adjust the sole plate. I leave mine in Neutral. The professionals have their sole plates set to open. Remember, they are taking the left half of the fairway out of play. It's just how they play - they only play from the right side of the course. Unless you are deadly accurate with a driver, I'd leave it neutral. Leaving it open can induce slice in a duffer. Closed of course will induce a snap hook.

Weights - this is where I believe the true beauty of the club is. Stock it comes with 10g in the heel and 1g in the toe. That is a fine setting. I put the 10g in the toe and 1g in the heel and the ball sliced nasty. I went and bought a full set of TaylorMade weights (not knock offs, real ones) and I'm now playing with 14g in the heel and 4g in the toe. It's evened out the club face for me, and the added mass of the club head is getting me more distance.

Pros:
1. adjustability - If you have the time and patience, you're going to have a perfectly set up club
2.

I have never written a review on any product before. But I just bought this driver after going to a demo day at the nearby golf course. The last driver I purchased was 15 years ago so thats maybe why I was so amazed by this driver. I had no idea I could hit balls like I did after picking up this club.

It felt like the ball just jumped off the face of the club. I tried the closed face setting but felt like the ball just didn't have the same pop off the club head so I went back to the neutral setting. I didn't want to put the club down but it was demo day so I went to try the Ping G15. And hands down for me the R11 was better than the ping. Some websites claim that the ping is more forgiving for high handicapped golfers but not for me and it didn't take me long to realize that.

But like any golf club, you should try it before you buy it to make sure it will work for you.

Someone asked if it comes with the wrench to adjust it yourself and the answer is yes. It is pretty easy to adjust actually and its not like it has a lot of different settings that you would need a professional to adjust it for you. And it comes with a little pamphlet that helps you with adjusting it yourself.

This new R11 driver is a beast! I was carrying my 08 Tour Burner 250-260, in my very first round with the R11 I was bombing my drives over 270 carry. The sound this club makes with great contact is just second to none. You will turn a lot of heads with this bad boy and make all of your buddies jealous and walking away from the tee box with their tails between their legs. Plus the adjust-ability is top notch. I switched the weights around so it was neutral and it allowed me to play my baby cut all day long. I bought the 9 degree and was teeing it up pretty low and I got very good trajectory. It's very accurate too, even the misses are going relatively long and straight. This is gonna help my game quite a bit and it has given me a ton of confidence in my drives. The white crown was a zero factor for me but the sharp contrast between crown and club face is very nice for aiming.

take off the red sole plate on this driver. it will reduce the weight of the driver and thus greater swing speed. i have noticed about 15 yards of distance, without any loss of performance and the sound is alot better. change the weights from 1 gram on the heel and 10gram on the toe. it will give you a perfect power fade shots.

I have been using a Ping Si3 for five years. It has served me very well providing me with great drives for a long time. Lately I have been having trouble getting my drives up high enough to clear some trees that are on two courses I play regularly. My Si3 has an 11* loft so there was nowhere to go. I looked at the review of adjustable drivers and decided to try the R11 with a 10.5* loft and adjustments for more.

My first bucket of balls went real well, I was hitting just about all of the balls dead straight but could not tell if the distance was any different (too far to see). With the Si3, I have a little push to the right on most of my drives but the R11 was dead straight. I tried the adjustment closing the head. Quite frankly, I did not see any difference but who cares if you are hitting straight!

I just finished my first 9 holes with the club. On all but one hole, I hit the ball further than I ever had before with the Si3 by 15 to 25 yards! My push is gone and my hits are higher without me adjusting the loft.

I did not expect to have such favorable results. Needless to say I'm extremely happy with the R11. I never thought I'd be able to swing a club with a head as big as the R11; it still feels like swinging a balloon at the end of a stick! I'm afraid to play with the adjustments, there is nothing to fix!
