Compact, Portable Design
The Tazz K32 is the ideal height for operation, the right geometry for easy transport, and compact for efficient storage. The unit stands 51” tall, so there is no need to lift material over your head. The handle bar is angled to put the center of gravity directly above the wheels during transport for stability. The compact, square shape of the unit gives it a small footprint in the garage.
Powerful Viper Engine
The 212cc engine attached to this Tazz comes with a 5-year warranty and is strong enough to power through 3” diameter branches and masses of leaves and twigs.
Tough, Durable Components
The K32 is made to last. The rugged steel hopper is designed to efficiently feed plant matter into the grinding chamber and to withstand the bangs and bumps that occur when working with large limbs. Also, in the grinding chamber the triand j-hammers will reduce material 20:1. These parts have been in production for over two decades.
Easy-to-use Debris Bag
Many chipper shredders don’t include a debris bag. Tazz not only includes a bag as standard equipment; it also has features not seen elsewhere that make it the easiest bag to use in the industry. Among its features are a Bottom-Out zipper, rugged fabric handles for carrying, and a Dock-and-Lock bag connector that allows you to connect your bag to the unit fast.

The K32 Tazz Chipper Shredder offers incredible performance in a surprisingly compact package. The unit is powered by an easy-starting and powerful Viper engine, strong enough to chip branches up to 3" in diameter. The rugged steel hopper stands at only 34" high, so yard waste can be dropped in with minimal effort while larger branches can be fed into the limb chute. If desired, mulch can be collected in the included debris bag. The grinding chamber features heavy-duty knives and hammers that will reduce material down to 1/20th of its original volume. Each model has been tested to and surpassed, ANSI B71.6 safety standards. Experience the efficient power of Tazz Chipper Shredders today.

-Setup: Not terrible but it will take about an hour to an hour and a half. Pretty straight forward. Basically you leave it in the box and break away the styrofoam packaging (which is really stout) to get the wheels and kickstand on. Then you can stand it up and continue putting it together. All nuts are locking which is good because it does vibrate quite a bit. I reccomend going over all the pre-assembled nuts and make sure they are tight. Take your time and this is not a bad afternoon job.
NOTE: This thing is heavy. I could not get it out of my pickup by myself. Keep this in mind for delivery options.
-Engine first start: Add oil and gas (I only use premium fuel with stabilizer: which happens to be recommended by Viper). Turn gas on, choke, and one EASY pull. It was the easiest engine I have ever started in my life! Sounds very good. I ran it for about an hour at 1/2 throttle to break it in and then 3/4 throttle for another hour for a little more break-in and then just run it wide open.
NOTE: Mine came with 10W30 oil for break-in I presume but manual states to use 15W40. I am guessing this is to reduce wear from high heat of a stationary tool.
-Function: This this is a beast for its size. It will chew up 3" limbs easily. Just try not to let them go into the feed too fast. It is loud so make sure to wear hearing and eye protection. It will make a pile of very nice mulch in a short time. It is not shredded super fine but a lot finer than the cheap mulch in the bags. And the size of chips is very consistent.
- Wheels: Not the greatest but they are big so it transports pretty easily by hand on somewhat rough terrain (My bumpy rooty lawn).
This thing is great for the price and it seems to be well built. For the money I cant imagine a better option. I will say that the one at Menards is 499 (in Ohio anyway) and Earthquake offers a 5 year warranty. No matter where you get it, I think you will be satisfied. As with all new things, time will tell about reliability.
Update: 08/25/17 Still a great tool. Very reliable to date, blades still sharp. I have run probably 20 to 25 full tanks of fuel through it which is probably about as many hours so not a ton but enough to know it's a good machine and especially for the price. The only issue I have had is that one of the nuts that hold the gas tank on rattle off. I noticed this when I could see excessive vibration of the tank. I replaced the nut with a lock nut and have not had another problem. At this time I checked all the other fasteners and none were loose so I would say it's safe to assume it was a fluke.
Similar to what others have experienced, my Tazz K32 shipping carton took a little abuse on its journey from AZ to NJ. My unit was delivered with no signature required, so I found it outside my garage with the box and packing straps mostly intact, however two of the bottom corners were torn open revealing part of the hopper and one of the axle ends. This seems pretty typical with large heavy items (140 lbs) transported across country, but Tazz/Ardisam could greatly reduce issues by using some reinforced corner pieces inside the boxes rather than just typical Styrofoam shells.
Unboxing / Setup
As expected from the condition of the shipping box there were a few parts found to be “damaged” (cosmetically or otherwise) including the upper hopper, lower hopper flange, wheel axle and minor scratches on the painted green handles and kickstand. (See Attached Pictures) The bends in the hopper upper/lower are purely cosmetic and I was able to mostly hammer back in shape within reason. The bigger issue was the bend in one of the axles which would cause the wheel when installed to not clear and bind against the chipper body. After a couple careful (but heavy) whacks with an 8lb rubber coated dumbbell it was straight and functional once again.
Testing & Usage
So after about 2 hours of actually runtime so far, 1 jam and about 15 cubic feet of mulch made, I’m very happy with my purchase! The initial pull start takes a good amount of effort, but once it has been running less or no choke is needed to restart. The Tazz K32 also has a fuel cutoff in addition to an actual engine ON/OFF switch so double check both are in the proper position and the throttle is set in the middle before attempting to start cold. So far I’ve been running through mostly dry, previously fallen hardwood branches of Maple, Cherry and Pine in diameters of 1/2 –inch to close to 3-inch. The closer to 3-inch stuff (at least hard and dry) will start to really slow down the 212cc motor if you let it self-feed. My one stall/jam was due to letting a larger branch into the feeder which eventually jammed and stalled the unit. The sweet spot with this unit is really 2-inches or less, no hesitation, sucks it right from your hand and spits it out. The major downside of the dry branches is that any “V’s” wider than 3-inches will bring chipping to a stop unless broken and re-fed. It’s almost just easier to pre break all “V’s” in the branches before feeding to keep things moving. The top hopper was great for feeding in all the scraps left behind from the branch feeder, along with pinecones, leaves, etc. The top feeder does need to be fed at a certain angle or things tend to bunch up so I suggest having a sturdy stick to help poke the feeding into the units blades.
I’ve been researching and waiting to get a chipper/shredder since moving to our larger yard/house and the Tazz K32 will make my life so much easier. I was originally looking to get one of the Earthquake (Model #14267) chippers which are also well rated, but this new Tazz K32 fixed & redesigned all the flaws (plastic feeder/weak kickstand/feeder & hopper angles) of the Earthquake model when they built the K32 (same parent company). At this price point it is a no-brainer and a great addition to the shed if you have many trees and/or shrubs on your lot. No more hauling or dumping branches, just roll out the compact and powerful Tazz and let it eat them up! Hope to have many years of carefree use with this baby, as everything is built tough, solid construction with a great warranty. Best equipment investment I’ve made in years, thanks again Tazz! :)
