Yes, the glass seems delicate, but it really can handle the stove top element (see pics and video). I specifically emailed this question to the company when the teapot arrived because, although it is stated on the Amazon listing, it doesn't say anything about stove top use in the materials that come with the teapot. They assured me it would be fine as borosilicate glass is what is used in laboratory test tubes (and I think we all know what they endure!)
Do be careful removing it from stove. Glass conducts heat very well, so of course it will conduct its heat right to your hands if you don't use a hot mitt or towel. I find a dish towel works well. Hold down the lid while pouring your tea...it doesn't "lock" in place.
I keep the teapot on the burner on warm to keep it a nice temp for next cup, but they do sell warming holders for it.
