I fell in love with this book from the first bewildering, smoldering scene, and was captivated until the last page[...]I loved this book from start to finish, and though this was my first Cassandra Dean book, I can guarantee you it won't be my last.
- Bridget, The Romance Reviews
With just a whisper, a caress, or a simple kiss, Ms. Dean takes the reader on an adventure full of hedonistic pleasure as well as bittersweet moments. [...] As the earl struggled with the emotional spiral that Elizabeth causes him every time they meet, I found myself crossing my fingers and hoping he would not damage the beautiful person that she is. When a novel has you feeling the way I did about the characters, you know it is a tale that will not disappoint and this one most certainly did not.

From the Author
TEACH ME is the tale of a curious widow and a jaded nobleman - my favourite combination! It probably is a surprise to absolutely no one who has read TEACH ME that my most-adored fairy tale growing up was Beauty and the Beast (and this has not changed now I'm done growing). I hope you enjoy Elizabeth and Malvern's tale as much as I enjoyed writing it.

I found myself engrossed by the characters and immersed in their emotional battles.
Although premise is not unique -rake tutors curious widow and vice versa- the execution was masterfully done with the love story remaining forefront.
Yes, there were plenty of steamy scenes and some explicit language. What surprised me was the frequency that these scenes served a purpose beyond titillation. The stages of the relationship, character development, and impediments to the couple's HEA were illustrated through the gradual shift in language and description. I loved the gradually build up of tension and intimacy.
The reason for 4 stars instead of 5- the scene in which the hero attempts to place a permanent wedge between himself and the heroine.
I believe it was meant to be shocking yet enthralling. Instead it divided my attention. I started to question whether the extreme action made the hero unpalatable.
Regardless, I will definitely look for more books from this author in the future.
The author's writing made me feel an array of emotions: dislike, excitement, wonderment, playfulness, giddiness, heartbreak, sadness, tears and of course in the end utter happiness! This story had it all. It had plenty of hot sex but most important, it also had a deep plot. I totally recommend it!
What I didn't expect was an actually good plot, fetching characters, and a good amount of wit.
A very solid four stars!
On a side note: There is a passage that I didn't care for. Despite the fact that the H is a rather unlikable figure, one cannot help but grow fond of him simply because the h does.
Then you've got the event that is the turning point in the story and one seriously wonders whether the H and the book are actually worth our time. We keep reading and come to a lovely HEA.
This book has it all, great characters, storyline, and hot romance. The story starts off with the heroine, Elizabeth, who is a widow that had a very unsatisfying marriage, waiting for her tutor to arrive for her first lesson in “carnal pleasures”, which she thinks will be taught through lectures from the Madame of the brothel. But the Madame arranges the Hero, James, who’s one of her best costumers, to tutor Elizabeth with “hands on” lessons. Their first meeting James whispers in Elizabeths ear what it will physically entail and all I could think was ‘yes please’, I couldn’t wait to read more! The storyline builds up the erotic, they ease into the actual sex. There is a lot of sensual whisperings, and conversations, and fantasying about the other, and leads up to sex. So the book is highly erotic without being just plain graphic.
The book is written exceptionally well, so well that even when things that are unrealistic happen, you tend to overlook it because it fits so well into the story. Some reviewers have mentioned the overuse of the “F” word, and cursing in general. I’m not a huge fan of excessive swearing, but in this case every instance it seems to fit, the use is quite appropriate for the storyline, there wasn’t one time where I thought that it was unnecessary.
Throughout the book you see the characters grow, though they try to resist it, especially James, who desperately tries to remain as he was. Again, the book is so well written, and the storyline progresses smoothly, with great character growth, that I felt every emotion; amusement, heartbreak, sadness, joy, desire, etc. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a well written historical romance that is also erotic.
