**spoiler alert**

"Teach Me" started off really well. I was so engaged with it I thought I was in for a treat. Turns out I wasn't going to get my treat. It started to take a downward spiral when the heroine, Jess, turns out to be a virgin. (I have the upmost respect for all virgins, young or old.) As I read the novel, I couldn't quite grasp what age Jess was. For me knowing the age would've helped me understand her thought-process (hope this makes sense). As I'm not a fan of virgin heroines in any novel (except YA), you can see how my interest starts to wane. Add to that the instant falling in love bulls*** and the whole getting engaged within weeks of knowing each other? My interest is quickly diminishing. By the way, the reason for Con not wanting to be in a committed relationship? Couldn't help but roll my eyes thinking how lame. Honestly, give me a break!

The other thing that really bothered me was the attitude and reaction by both Con and Jess when it turns out the condom broke after having sex the first time.

"So, don’t worry until we have something to worry about?"

I'm sorry but this doesn't sit well with me. I would think that both parties would not be so apathetic as Con and Jess are at the prospect of being pregnant. While I do understand not worrying over something that may not be, I would think pregnancy would be something to be very worried about; where both parties would take a proactive approach. There is the morning-after pill. Yes, I know this is fiction, but let's try to be a little realistic. If you think I'm way off base or too zealous, I'd love to hear from you to discuss this (in a respectful manner). I'm also surprised that Jess had no concerns about STDs as Con is most-definitely not a virgin.

The romance of Jess and Conlan in Teach Me has the feel of "same old, same old". Girl from an abusive relationship meets a man who can "fix" her through the power of sex. There is not a lot of romance here - I don't believe the main characters every go on a proper date. One redeeming quality is that Conlan owns a security agency and does teach Jess how to defend herself. The antagonist, Brit (Jess's ex-boyfriend) is stereotypical as a controlling type who is a psychopathic murderer. All in all - it has a been there, done that feel.

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.

Ella Sheridan is a new author to me and after reading Teach Me, I will definitely be checking out her other books. I really enjoyed reading Teach Me and to be honest, its they type of book I will re-read many times over. This book had my attention from the very start and nobody could have dragged my eyes away from the pages, even if their was a fire happening.

I loved the characters, especially Conlan. He was just so sexy and protective, that it makes me want to take self-defense lessons, just so I can find my own Con to grapple with. Con owns a security company with one of his friends, and Jess is definite need of lessons and protection. The chemistry between the two characters is practically scalding. The road to love isn't an easy one, they must get past Con's commitment issues, as well as Jess's dangerous ex-boyfriend. Jess was such a strong character, who I definitely admire. She went through some major stuff in this book and she didn't let all the bad stuff change her. In fact, everything she went through made her stronger. I love characters like this and cried toward the end, when she wanted to sacrifice herself, and Con's reaction to this, just made me cry harder.

I seriously loved this book and can't wait for the next one to come out! Just let me know when I can pre-order it.

I was glued to this story from the very first page, with Jess and Conlan you never know what will happen. You can't help but root for them to get together in the end. Jess is back to the world of the living after her ex-boyfriend Brit put her in the hospital and the recovery time was about six weeks but her mental recovery will always be part of her. Conlan has come to the same coffee shop each Monday hoping to see her. her being Jess.He didn't know why she hasn't been around, he just wanted to see her. Conlan will rescue her more than once and in more ways then one. He will rescue her mind, body and soul. Conlan doesn't believe in love, everyone will leave him and he will not let himself get hurt that way. Can Jess make Conlan see that love is a good thing? Can Conlan save Jess when Brit comes after her again? This is an awesome romantic suspense and all around great story. This is a first for me by Ella Sheridan and I can't wait for more, especially from this series.

This was a pretty good read for me. The heroine was tired of being abused by her boyfriend and left him. When her ex started stalking her she decides to fight back and learn some self defence skills. Our hero is in the personal security business and becomes her self defence instructor. Once he realizes that she is in a lot of danger, he and his company put her under their protection. The only that didn't work for me was the hero's excuse as to why he couldn't have a committed relationship. Other than that, I enjoyed it..........d:)
