This was an excellent book on a different approach to teaching art that is more relevent and applicable to students' lives. Includes art history, theory, and criticism. Is very valuable to any art teacher wanting help in creating an engaging curriculum.

Kerry Freedman brings a great perspective to visual culture. This book was amazing through and through. I love her insight and think this is a must for all art educators! Teachers of other subjects would also benefit from this information. Worth it a hundred times over!

A bit of a dry read and the book design does not help, but there is some good stuff here. In-depth analysis of the pervasiveness of visual culture.
