I truly believe that understanding more about cancer is the key to a successful fight against it.

When you know more about what you are fighting against, you can figure out how to prepare for that fight. When you have an idea of what to expect, you can begin to take back control.

Drawing on my own personal experience and experience with my patients, I've been inspired to write this book. I want to deliver a powerful message about cancer in straightforward, down-to-earth language that anyone can understand. Through this book, I want to raise awareness and share the information I have learned over the years.

This book is a personal conversation that I want to have with you. I will talk to you like I talk to my patients in my San Diego clinic. I have grown to love and admire my patients, and they have been as supportive of me as I am of them. But in these chapters, I can tell you even more than I can in my one-on-one appointments.

You are able to be informed, educated, and ready to make intelligent decisions about your health. And I am on your team.

Teaming Up Against Cancer is written in a simple easy to understand language that extracts basic daily living examples. It is divided into sections that make it easier to read thus reader can read it in one sitting and will get general idea about the content of the book. At the same time, readers can spend a lot of time on each chapter to get more in depth meaning from the content.
What impressed me most is the numerous first hand examples that the author included based on stories she got from patients who went through this very difficult ordeal. Yes cancer is very painful and no matter what is done to it, cancer along with the process of dealing with the effects remain very painful. Yet at the same time, patients who go through cancer (along with their families) do not have to go through it alone, they can team up against cancer. This book gives a good start toward that route. She provides insight, encouragement and concise guidance on making the best choices to deal with or (hopefully) prevent a cancer diagnosis. It's refreshing to read a book that takes an honest look at an epidemic and doesn't preach or judge the reader but instead uses the author's vast knowledge to educate, inspire hope and create change.

I have not yet read this book which was informed to me by the author’s sister Mss Nazaneen, a dear and close colleague, but I would pre-judge it’s themes to be inspiring and enlightening as I know the family history by now.
Given the life path of Mss Reyzan as described here, and the character of her sister, I would judge that this book is an intellectual work of a lifetime experience which makes it worth reading.
