Teapots and Treachery contains 2 second chance at romantic suspense short novels by Donna K. Weaver. The first one is A Savage Ghost which tells the story of Lia's family taking up residence in the family castle that had been moved to the US about 100 years ago. Ironically her crush of a year ago was raised there and now works as the gardener, a long dead relative haunts the castle, and her youngest sisters twin's ghost helps to solve a mystery. This novel starts out a little awkwardly, is heavy on the clean romance, mild on suspense, and finishes with a happy ending for all including the ghosts.
Waves of Deceit is an action and drama packed short romance which reunites college sweethearts Shelby and Wade. This novel is full of irony, deceit, some violence, and multiple twists culminating in a happy ending.
A Savage Ghost was awesome! This one really sparked my imagination. Lia is just getting ready to realize her dream of opening a dessert bakery when her family receives a castle as an inheritance, making it so they have to move. Lia goes to help the family get settled in the castle, grudgingly. Only to find when they get there that the castle is haunted. And the groundskeeper is none other than the young man she fell for the previous summer, Coop. This one had some really fun and crazy ghost moments. I loved the whole idea of the family moving into the castle and finding a ghost that seems to want them gone more than anything. And I loved that this one included a second ghost. You'll have to read it to believe it!
Then there's Waves of Deceit. It's about Shelby. She's a young woman who's risen through the ranks of her father's business, but she feels that he doesn't care for her because she's never even met him. That's a bit crazy, but you'll have to read the story to find out just why she hasn't. Her father wants Shelby assigned to his pet project an island resort that seems to be having problems. The catch: she has to work with the young man that spurned her when she was in college, Wade. Shelby has no idea how she's going to be able to work with him, because she still has feelings for him. This book kept me interested and intrigued with a crazy plot including a huge storm, friends who may turn out to be traitors and of course the intrigue of not knowing her father.
