Bethany's Aunt Alice is the strong family support system in her life as Bethany endures a range of feelings from heartache to anger at God and the man who caused the accident that took her beloved parents from her.
TEARS TO DANCING is a heartwarming read that will have you cheering Bethany on in her struggle not to give up on life or the gift of dancing that God has given her.
If there is one attribute I admire in an author, it is the ability to write books in more than one genre. Talented Author Laura Thomas is one such author. I enjoy her easy-to-read, well-written, faith based books that definitely appeal to a variety of ages.
“Tears to Dancing” is the story of Bethany St. Clair, an only child and teenage girl who is also a gifted ballerina. Shortly before Christmas, on the way home after enjoying a ballet performance of “The Nut Cracker” with her parents, the car driven by her dad is side swiped and both her parents lose their lives in this unfortunate accident. Needless to say, Bethany is totally devastated. Beaten and bruised along with a severely broken leg, she must now face life alone. Her future looks bleak but with the love and support of her Aunt Alice, her mother’s only surviving relative, Bethany is given a new lease on life.
Aunt Alice is unmarried but in love with the local pastor of her church. Steve is a gracious man who makes every effort to embrace Bethany with a circle of love and prayer. Bethany is very angry at God and initially rejects the possibility that He loves her too…
Natasha, her best friend since childhood with different values than Sara and Todd of the youth church group, clashes with Bethany’s “new normal”. Will life ever be the same? Will Bethany ever be able to achieve her dream of dancing again?
I have a thirteen year old granddaughter and I can't wait to share “Tears to Dancing” and its beautiful message with her.
I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I'm Not Perfect and It's Okay: Thirteen Steps to a Happier Self
As you read this book, your heart will break for Bethany as she goes through the stages of grief. You will become overjoyed as she comes to know the Lord. But in between those two very different stages of her life you will see this young girl change and grow. It is heart warming to see Bethany accept and enjoy her new life.
This book will be enjoyed for young girls of all ages, especially those who love to dance. I would highly recommend it.
When first starting this book I was caught up in the life of a young lady, Bethany St.Clair. Her life is was turned up side down but she has a outlook on life that makes you love her. And I was immediately pulled into the book and all the emotions of Bethany's life.
Author Laura Thomas has a unique way of writing on the level for young girls that I totally enjoyed reading. Her characters are loveable, real, and have real life issues that you can relate to.
The plot in this story is incredible. You go through all the twists and turns, all the feelings from high to low, from scared to hope, from crying to laughing. I feel that all young teen and adults should have this on their shelf's. The ending makes you want more. Leaves you looking for the next chapter.
A MUST READ for all avid young readers, awesome clean read.
So due to the above, if I could it would be higher, I am giving this book a Breath of Life ratings of:
Five Clock Rating!!!
Disclosure: I did received the above book in exchange for my honest opinion and review. Opinions are my own and yours may differ.
Honestly, unless I missed the Bethany's age being mentioned in the beginning, I couldn't for the life of me figure out how old she was. At times her interior monologue sounded much older than her fifteen years--mentioned at the end. But her anger and frustration were very believable and I enjoyed riding Bethany's emotional waves as it came to two very understandable conclusions (I won't give it away) for her to choose from. The pacing of the story was good and the dialogue flowed smoothly. I'd recommend this read to both young adults and adults.
Great debut by Ms. Thomas. I hope she writes a happier book next time--just saying, lol. In fact, I'd love to see Bethany and Todd...you know.
