From the Back Cover
“The wisest question when we are deeply sad is not, ‘How can I end or numb this pain immediately?’ The wisest question is, ‘What is the meaning of this pain? What does it reveal to me? What is it calling me to understand?’”—from Tears to TriumphWe have lost touch with the resources people have used for dealing with suffering and depression. Instead, we numb our pain, medicate it, or deny it. As bestselling author, teacher, and activist Marianne Williamson explains, we have neglected the spiritual work required for healing. In avoiding our pain, we avoid our growth. She offers an opportunity to transform our pain so it becomes an opportunity for healing and enlightenment.

In an age where most physicians are trained to address symptoms with the newest big pharma push, a different take on this epidemic is refreshing. I personally feel like numbing one's emotions with prescription drugs is like wrapping yourself up in Saran Wrap. It's a hindrance to real connection. It further withdraws the psyche, makes it difficult to connect with others, and prolongs suffering because the underlying issues, causing one's sadness to begin with, are not usually dealt with - just placated.
I hope anyone struggling with any kind of sadness can choose to have an open-mind long enough to read this book and be cognizant of another option. Much love...
She writes with such mastery as she transforms pain into wisdom by her words.
I love Marianne, and she certainly knows the true meaning of the "Christ consciousness".
unlike the hypocricy of Catholicism and Born again Christianity.
"Tears to Triumph"... Her weekly streamings from New York continue to inspire the many. She reminds one of the
successful speaker, Bishop Fulton J. Sheen, during the TV years of 1951-57.
