From the Back Cover
What happens when a girl who always calls the shots meets a guy who's too wild for even her?
A born flirt and good-time party girl, Emerson has never had a problem finding a willing guy. She's always chosen her hookups carefully, and she's never broken her three cardinal rules:
Never let them see the real you.
Never fall in love.
Always leave them begging for more.
Then Shaw comes along. A hottie from the wrong side of the tracks, he's immune to her flirtatious banter and come-hither smile. After rescuing her from a disastrous night at a biker bar, he doesn't even try to take her to bed—he calls her a tease and sends her home instead. Unable to resist a challenge, or forget the sexy, dark-eyed, bad-boy biker, she vows to bring him to his knees.
But instead of making Shaw beg, Emerson finds herself craving him. For the first time in her life, she's throwing out her rule book. Suddenly, she's the one panting for a guy she can't control—a guy who won't settle for anything less than the real Emerson and who forces her to do things she's never imagined, including facing a past she thought she'd buried.
A guy who just might leave her wanting more. . . .

Emerson has a reputation that she has worked hard to perfect. She parties on the weekends, never leaving the bar without a hookup. She never has to buy her own drinks and can spot the “right” guy a mile away. She stays away from anyone she can’t control and that might make her feel something the next morning. She breaks the rules unless they are her own. Only problem with her plan: Shaw.
Shaw sees Emerson and knows she is trouble even before she starts a bar fight that he has to save her from. After being ditched at a rowdy biker bar, Emerson is forced to accept the Hot bad boy bikers help to get home. She is determined to keep Shaw away from her even when he suddenly shows up everywhere she is. Her friends can see there is something between Emerson and Shaw, but she refuses to let him in. Then the past and secrets she has kept hidden come back to haunt her. Life might end for Emerson before she even gets a real chance to live it… To find out what secrets she is hiding and if Emerson can let them go and trust her heart you will need to buy the second book in this great series.
Emerson was a struggle for me. She was just tough for me to like at times. Well, that’s not the right word, because I liked her, but she frustrated me. I wanted to shake her so hard for about 70% of the book. I can’t even pin point what it was exactly about her, but there was something. She just lied to herself too much I think. I understood the hesitations and why she acted the way she did, but I think she just pushed my tolerance for it a tad. Also, she never ever wanted to listen to her friends, even when they were just trying to be helpful. Normally I get frustrated with pushy friends, but that wasn’t the case here because they were right. I also didn’t like that she kinda begrudged her friends their happiness in their relationships just because she didn’t want one. But in the end, I liked her growth and I did like her.
While I struggled with Emerson, I ADORED Shaw. Oh my gosh Shaw was incredible. I fell hard for him and I fell fast. He saw Emerson and he knew right then and there that he wanted her. He also saw behind the extremely high walls she put up and saw the real her. I loved how he saw her and saw someone worth loving. It was so beautiful. This is probably why I struggled with Emerson. She had this wonderful guy standing in front of her willing to give her the world and she turned a blind eye.
The chemistry in Tease was off the charts. Sophie Jordan knows how to write a steamy book and do it well. It is never tacky or forced; it always feels right and real. Emerson and Shaw together made for some very very steamy moments. I also loved their sweeter moments as well. It was both heartwarming and sexy. Exactly what I want in a new adult read.
Reece and Pepper made an appearance and just a reminder, I still love Reece. I’m also ready for the next book now that I know who the characters will be!!! She has left me ready for more.
Tease is a good read and while it may not have lived up to Foreplay for me, it is still definitely worth your time. Shaw alone makes this book worth reading.
Tease by Sophie Jordan is the second book in The Ivy Chronicles series (Foreplay #1, Wild #3) and is my favorite of the three. The heroine in this book is Emerson, the tease/flirt/party girl who acts like she doesn't have a care in the world. However, she hides a deep dark secret that she has kept from her closest friends.
While at a biker bar, Emerson gets uber drunk and starts a brawl causing her so-called friends to abandon her. She gets rescued by our hero, Shaw who also has a chip on his shoulder. He is an ex-marine, come back from Afghanistan (or was it Iraq?) trying to forget about the cousin that died in the line of duty.
When our hero and heroine meet, Emerson gets labeled a cocktease and despite trying to suppress her attraction to Shaw, she cannot stay away.
This has become a favorite of all the three because I liked the darkness that Ms. Jordan added to the story. The family issues that she added with blended families was done well although there were a few eyebrow-raising parts.
There are two things that I did not like about Tease, though. First is Emerson. Yes, she has scars but she was a little off putting at first. A female "rake" that rubbed me the wrong way. Second is the cover. I did not like the cover AT ALL! Not to mention that I already read a book with the SAME COVER a couple of years ago. Yes, recycling covers is good but this one was not done right.
Tease is steamy, a little bit cheesy and a unique college romance that will keep you wanting more.
