My daughter is a bilateral cochlear-implant recipient and is completely deaf when not wearing the external processors. They are not to be worn while sleeping so setting any alarm to wake her by sound is pointless. The bed-shaker (vibrating disc usually placed under pillow or near) alarms like her cellphone set to vibrating alarm sounds like a good idea... except by morning she has wondered away from those. But THIS Alarm she can't run away from and it has a powerful vibration...Perfect!! Now I can sleep in :)

This wrist band vibrating alarm clock is very complicated to set the time on and the worst part is, that is if you want to change the time each morning or occasionally to have it go off at a different time, you have to start all over in following the written directions and go step-by-step through many steps to reset the alarm clock. The first night I tested wearing the alarm clock on my wrist the velco closure came undone and if fell off of my wrist and into my bed. I didn't feel it going off.

I have to be honest when I say that this item was returned by me. I bought this because I am a very deep sleeper, and have constantly had trouble my whole life waking up to my alarm. There have been times where those awake around me have seen me have four different alarms at full blast around head and me still be dead asleep. I figured maybe utilizing the vibration feature of this watch would help. For me personally, it didn't at all.

This watch would be perfect for a light sleeper who has a sleeping partner who sleeps in later. This would certainly wake up a lighter sleeper, and it really is almost silent (compared especially to an audible alarm). The band works well, it never fell off of me when I slept, and the bulk of the watch is bigger than in the item detail page picture, but certainly not obtrusive enough to bother me. Great solution for the right person, but not for a deep sleeper like me.

A great product for me. I use the vibrating alarm to wake me up when I fall asleep in mys son's room, and when I need to get up earlier than my husband. It works best clipped to my pants, or placed next to my mattress (my mattress is on the floor and it vibrates the whole mattress). I found the wristband not useful- too clunky on my wrist, didn't feel the vibration when I tried it on my ankle. The directions are updated to address some of the complaints from earlier years' reviews but they fail to mention to push "reset" to turn off the alarm when it's vibrating/ chiming. If you press "stop" it activates the snooze feature and keeps sounding off/vibrating. I found it awkward to learn to use but now I have it down and really like it.

I have a teenage son and we're always looking for tricks/ways of getting him up on time and without biting our heads off. Then, I saw a random ad talking about an item similar to this one and started looking around. I settled on this one and so far am very happy with the results. I won't say that my son is popping out of bed raring to go with an ear to ear grin or anything. But since it goes off before I'm doing my morning wake up rounds, he's prepared. And gently. He says it's a lot less startling than a regular alarm clock but enough of a vibration to make him want to hit snooze as soon as he can. So by the time I get in there, he's pretty much awake and not angry about it as he always was before. Time will tell if it's going to be long term effective but as it stands now, it's making our mornings much more peaceful and productive. Most parents will know that that's a pretty amazing achievement all it's own! Would recommend!

One weird product

Cons:
Super complex design with unwanted features that get in the way of basic features. Do you really need/want a stopwatch function? Do you need an alarm clock to know the day of the week and date? It's not like you can tell it which days to set the alarm. I'm always hitting the wrong button and am lost in space in a setup mode. It has a switch that lets you choose vibrate or tone, but not off. Why would you want an alarm clock to chime every hour? It can be turned off, but you need to pour over the instructions to find out how. Easy to set the snooze function, but how do you tell it to stop the alarm until the next day? If I put this on the nightstand with it set to vibrate, it sounds like somebody is ripping the side off the house.

I mostly wanted an inexpensive clock to let me know what time it is in the middle of the night. If I turn off the alarm and am careful to only hit the "light" button, then I'll probably be very happy. Nice mechanical design, terrible user interface.

UPDATE 1/21/14
Turns out the Reset button (upper button on left side) will turn off the alarm and it will be ready to go the next day.

If you hit one of the two buttons on the right side of the clock, you will be thrown into setup modes to give you heartburn. I'm thinking of putting a piece of tape over them.

The "silent" alarm is considerably louder than the "audible beep sound".

The alarm has a very polished look to it. The feature set complicates the product greatly. The instructions, while not in broken English, hide how to use the alarm in a normal mode. The first feature discussed is "Stopwatch". Good grief.
