***Update as of 02.03.2019. I spoke to TechMatte and they were willing to give me a refund for the product since the item wasn’t working for me and it appeared as if I was going to be unable to use the item. I decided to troubleshoot with them first, and they asked me to use a wall power source that has a higher output; similar to the output of a power source for an iPad. I am not sure the amount of output for the one I had been using since it was one that was supplied to me by my work, so I connected it to a different wall power with a 2.4A output. Once I connected to a higher output wall power source the charger was able to charge my phone through the case. Works like a charm now. I have changed my original review from a 2 star to a 4 star since the product works as it should and since I feel as if they should indicate on their website that they recommend higher output power sources. Overall I am happy with the product and their customer service.

I have used multiple wireless charging stations, but this is the first charging stand that I purchased. The charger appears to be of quality material. I gave this stand 2 stars because, it will not charge my iPhone Xs while it is in a case. I have tried multiple cases and it will not charge in any of them. Have not had any issues with any other wireless charging stations, such as Anker or Belkin. The charger works just fine on a naked phone, but if you are like most people that care about their phone and places it in a case [not sure why anyone in their right mind wouldn't use one since phones are ridiculously expensive], I would pass on this specific charger and go with a more reputable brand (as indicated above) that has no issues charging through a case. Some people have indicated that it will charge through their case, but I don't think its worth the gamble since I myself tried multiple cases and no luck.

My device failed after 1.7 years of use, which is a good run I guess judging by the number of the reviews stating much earlier failure times.

I submitted a warranty claim on the website, and to my surprise it was instantly approved. I received an automated email stating my replacement was being prepared for shipping. I was impressed and thought, "wow, this company really stands by its products. They've automated the warranty claim process such that I don't even need to waste time on phone hold or waiting for email responses."

Two days later, I receive an email from customer support stating that the claim was rejected because the device is out of warranty and a 15% discount offer. I responded with an incredulous response and they replied that the response is automated and that every claim is later manually reviewed.

My recommendations to Techmatte:
1) Fix your automated warranty website. It should not promise that an item is being prepared for shipping when in fact the warranty claim is still being reviewed. Better yet, check the order date and verify the product is in warranty on the claim web page. It made me provide my Amazon order number and loaded the order details, so I thought it actually already did this.
2) If you make a promise, even by accident, stand by it. This feels like basic business ethics to me. Being promised something and later being denied comes across as betrayal.
3) Don't offer the 15% discount as a concession when denying the claim. Honestly it's just insulting. The dollar amounts here are inconsequential, and I'm not buying another product out of principle. I'd rather just rant and influence others not to support the company.

DOA, but out of warranty. Customer service runaround

Unfortunately (for me) I let this charger sit in the box past the warranty period. Most of my phones are in heavy duty cases, so I didn't bother to try it. When I recently got my first iPhone (just to run DarkSky, but that's another story) I opened the box and set up the iPhone on the charger. It charged the phone, but the indicator light began blinking blue (no such code in the user manual). The charger then stopped charging allowing the iPhone to discharge completely. Customer service was of NO help blaming everything (case (none) cable, AC adapter...) for the problem, but not their adapter. I finally just went and purchased an Anker wireless stand and it works flawlessly with the same cable and AC adapter. Bottom line - poor quality control and poor customer service = a customer who will never buy anything from Techmatte again.
