I couldn't find ANY info on exactly where this was located except a parts diagram, which wasn't much help. Most info related to the lawnmower version of my engine model. So I just assumed I only had to remove the flywheel cover to get to it, which proved to be correct. But I did have to removed the gas tank and a few other parts to get to the cover. The whole thing took me about an hour, now that I know how to get to it I coudl probably do it in 30 minutes.
The only thing I found a bit odd was that this one, and the old one I pulled off, don't have washers on the screw head. So when you're setting the gap (using the old business card trick, which is the best) it has a tendency to move while tightening. So jsut make sure the gap is still correct after tacking it down. Not a big deal, and not the fault of this coil... just my observation.
I reiterate DO NOT BUY THIS JUNK! Can't describe how mad and disappointed I am at this point in time!
Waste of time and money!
If your lawn mower wont start and the carburetor is OK, it is worth while replacing the magneto.
Solved my problem.
