Great game for casual handheld game players.

This game was nearly perfect. The only thing that kept it from 5 stars is a few missions have tedious or frustratingly hard moments. I've been gaming since the NES so I don't mind hard at all. But there is a difference between hard because I'm not good at it yet (like classic Mega Man) and hard because it's unfair (Donnies boss is a good example). Those moments felt like padding to lengthen. But it's still really fun, music is great. This is definitely better than any of the newest Turtle games based on the current series.

I had played the first game released under the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise, a great side-scrolling fighter game in the early '90s. This game doesn't measure up to those standards, but it's a decent little action game for the Game Boy Advance.
The problems? This game is completely 2-D; your character can't move up or down without jumping a ledge. The auto-dash feature (your character dashes if you hold down left or right) is a primitive platform-game feature that that should've been dog-eared two game generations ago, but here it is -- an intensely annoying control problem that doesn't help the game at all, especially since the double-dash control in this game is very responsive. And the idea of splitting up one long plot into four character-specific subplots is interesting, but even given this, the game is pretty short. If they'd devoted more storage to add more levels rather than those boring dialogue scenes, the game would have been better.
The good points: Despite some of their questionable features, the inclusion of the mini-games nevertheless helps expand the game's horizons. Wish they could have balanced the gameplay on these games better. The characters have a pretty good array of moves for a Game Boy Advance fighting game, and controls are pretty smooth (despite the auto-dash problem). Konami games tend to have a fairly solid quality standard, and this game is no exception.
Not a great game, but certainly an entertaining and playable one. How quickly it wears out its welcome, though, remains to be seen. There just isn't much depth to the gameplay here, and I'm hoping the upcoming release of Double Dragon Advance will not disappoint.

I recently purchased ninja turtles GBA double pack which includes this game and battle nexus 2 GBA. You can find my battle nexus review on the review page for it soon, same goes for double pack.

Story:Leo: Leo follows the events of attack and the mousers/things change, you will be mouser bashing, purple dragon plattering, and fighting the furious foot clan (ALLITERATION FOR THE WIN). each turtle has a certain vechile stage and boss fight stage. In leo's case there is 2 bosses. Vehicle level: Sewer slider, shooting game in which mousers are the target. Vehicle boss: Door

Story:raph: Raphs events take place and explain the entierty of "Meet casey jones. Get ready for purple dragon plattering, and dragon face flattening. In raphs case raph has 2 boss fights. Act 2 boss fight: Casey jones. Act 3 vehicle level: Motor cycle race, dodge obsticals. Act 4: Act 4 is a little different. You are fighting waves of purple dragons with the help of an AI casey. then you fight dragon face as a boss.

story: don: Vehicle level: Hanglider BOSS:FOOT TECH NINJA

Story: Mikey: Vehicle level: sewer skate boarding act 4: take on 8 monsters 1 after another.

story: shredders tower: bosses: hun, shredder

Closing: Shredders boss fight is hard and i will have to check a walkthrough. which i havent had to do yet. i was also frustrated with dons hangliding level and mikes Act 4 ( Which BTW took me an hour to beat) other than some unbalanced difficulty the game is good.

Well, I must say, I was quite disappointed. We have the ninja turtles game for PS2 and that one is great, my 5 year old loves it and can play it no problem....it goes on and on and on....one level after another. This one for the Gameboy Advance however, it has 4 levels. that's it. 4 levels. My son is asking for help every 5 minutes. I have a hard time beating the guys and I am definitely a gaming mom. So, after a few attempts, I beat it. In all of about 2 hours. So...I definitely DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES RECOMMEND THIS GAME. IT WAS A BIG WASTE OF MONEY OTHER THAN THE FACT THAT IT IS A NINJA TURTLE GAME. THE ONLY THING YOU ARE PAYING FOR, IS THE NAME.
