The Tekpower TP3003D-3 variable DC power supply is a compact and affordable instrument that is suitable for both home and industrial use. This digital DC power supply has a total of three DC outputs, two of them have a maximum output voltage of up to 30 volts and current up to 3 amps, they may also be connected in series or in parallel for higher voltage or current; the last one has an output voltage of 5V and current up to 3 amps. It comes with rotary switches for setting up the voltage and current. With its reliability and versatility, it's an invaluable and indispensable tool for testing, science project and etc., ideal for labs, research institutes, R & D facilities.

Pro's: Great product for the price. Solidly built.
Con's:
1. Dual supply is not perfectly balanced. + leg was about 100mV higher than - leg.
2. I was driving myself mad trying to figure out why my design seemed off.. was measuring a resistor divider on a breadboard (while the supply was off of course) and nothing added up. I was getting a 2.7kOhm reading across my + and - rail when I left it open. Turns out the + and - on the power supply has this impedance across it when switched off. I'm not sure if this is the case with "high end" supplies but I will check my supplies at work and update. Just a word of caution to disconnect the supply when taking passive measurements.

Works great! Directions are a little cheap and hard to understand but I'm sure if you are buying this, you already know what you are doing and can figure it out. I really like that you can drive both supplies in parallel to get fat amps out of this thing. I work on robots and the wheelchair motors draw quite a bit so this is great when I am testing things out on the bench before committing a final design to the batteries. The LCD display pictured is not what I received--I got one with red and green LED segmented displays which I actually prefer. Great price, get this one.

I have used power supplies for 40 years as a professional engineer. I have purchased and used many different power supplies through Amazon at very reasonable prices. However not ALL power supplies regulate to the current limit value smoothly, accurately and consistently all the way down into a short circuit. This power supply DOES ! This behaviour is important for anyone doing electronics work. And also the price of this power supply is exceptionally good value for the money. I highly recommend it to anyone involved in electronics.

Works fairly well. It will put out the rated voltage and current and is built good enough. It is a little hard to adjust the voltage or current with precision because the knobs are course. I will probably change out the adjustment pots for 10 turn pots. The pots are unmarked, so I will have to take them out and measure them prior to ordering, unless someone knows what resistance they are.

It would be nice if the meters had one more digit. If you need to adjust accurately, you need to use an external meter. One benefit of the analog design, is that you can set supply to exactly what you want, while the digital supplies, have digital steps, Turn on/off is smooth and controlled with almost zero overshoot, I would have no issues powering on with circuitry connected. Power supply ripple is meets spec and is about 10mV. Power supply seems bigger than it needs to be. There is allot of empty space in the case.

There is that crazy china tool smell. If you don't know what I am talking about go to your local Harbor Freight Tool and you will smell the same smell when you walk in the door. I have it in my garage so it is not an issue.
