The BTC201 (BTC200 Series) temperature controller can turn on/off an electric appliances at desired temperature.
And the operation has been simplified for ease of use.
For example, you can use the controller to turn on/off a heater and a fridge to keep temp around 100 F. Turn on heater at 98.5 F. Turn on fridge at 105 F. Turn off the heater/fridge when temp reaches 100 F. The setting is (SV=100, Cd=5, Hd=1.5). Please note that the controller itself doesn't change temp.

Anyway, with just an internal thermistor that seemed to definitely have problems with smaller spaces, I decided not to trust it with the larger tank, lol. Instead of buying a newer, fancier heater, I decided to go with redundancy!!
This thing is terrific, drop the sensor in the water, select the heating plug then set the high and low temps. I tested it of course with a glass of water that I added hot and cold water to. Get too hot and the relay cuts power to the heater, temp drops too low and the heater cuts back on!
My only complaint is the sensor plug where it plugs in to the side of the unit, it's finicky, if you don't have it pushed in just the right amount, but not too far, the thing goes bonkers till you get it right. It's almost like one is 3.5mm and the other is 1/8" or something strange like that. I could prolly fix it but since nothing touches it once it's set up I don't worry about it.
All in all, money well spent! Yeah, I could have built one for a lot less money, but just having it all done in an enclosure with the power cord wired makes it too easy!
I rated 4/5 stars because I would actually like to see the plugs be on the bottom of the unit to make for a better wall-mounting setup. I noticed that the connector for the probe seems to be very sensitive so that if it gets bumped or any pressure applied to it, it will wig out and behave as though the sensor is removed until you stop touching it or remove pressure.
A nice to have feature would be an option to limit the amount of runtime for the heat cycle so as to avoid melting either fermenters or the inside of the fridge. This is only really an issue if you are using an incandescent bulb, ceramic heat emitter or if you are one of the crazy people that put an actual heater in your chamber. This can also be solved by stress testing your system ahead of use and properly sizing the heat source ahead of time. There aren't any temp controllers out there with this function builtin as far as I am aware.
So, for what it's worth, my limited time with this device has been great.
