I throughly enjoyed about 50% of this love story. It had many sweet, touching moments. However, the reason why I didn't love it 100% was because it was just more of the same. A man struggling not to cave into his desires and bed his virgin love. Scenes where they kept apologizing for wanting to, repeatedly proclaiming to wait, and talk about the need to marry as soon as possible. Another reason why I didn't wholeheartedly enjoy this installment was because, once again, Pamela had a woman strike a man. Violence is never the answer!!!
For over a year, they fought obstacles to their love. Obstacles such as Lori Strickland, a spoiled little rich girl, too young to even think of a steady boyfriend; Craig Harris, Amber's father, who was over-protective and didn't want to lose his `baby girl'; and passion, red-hot and simmering, that battered for release each time Amber and Stanley were together.
Amber and Stanley learned how to rely upon their deep, abiding faith in God and allow Him to live through them, making it possible for them to work through their troubles and come forth as shining gold. However, it wasn't a happy-ever-after romance at this time. The strongest trial yet came upon them shortly after they arrived home from their honeymoon. Was their faith in God strong enough to conquer this new obstacle? Was their love deep enough, unselfish enough, to see them through?
Tempered Fire is not only the story of a raging romance between two young Christians. It is also the story of a couple who did not want to lose their firstborn to a man they knew little about. Fear and doubt along with the natural feelings of parents not wanting to see their daughter grow up made it extra difficult for them to accept any man in their daughter's life. But there comes a time when a child must build a life of his/her own and Craig and Tamera Harris, who met and married in Tempered Hearts, had to learn to let go of Amber with their blessing.
Scott and Katrina Hensley, who met in Tempered Dreams and married just six months ago, arrive with good news of their own.
Tempered Fire, the third book in the Tempered Series, is the best one yet. You'll laugh and cry and laugh again. You'll thrill as you watch God sort this young couple's troubles and pour blessings upon them in spite of the obstacles. God never promises to take away our problems. He promises to make us a way to get through them.
"Amber Harris is the only daughter of the wealthy ranch owner Craig Harris. She falls madly in love with Stanley Morrison a ranch worker at the neighboring Bar S. Ranch. Stanley comes from a different background and has a past that he is trying to put to rest."
"Amber's father is not happy about the relationship with his daughter and Stanley. He has trouble accepting that his daughter is growing up. This begins to become a problem for the father and daughter relationship. In addition to other forces that are trying to keep them apart."
"Stanley and Amber must decide if their love is enough to help them survive through the nay sayers or will their love simply be chalked up as young love that was unable to withstand the test of time."
"Your heart can't help but feel for this young couple as the author does an excellent job relating this adoring story."
