About the Author

Jennifer Malin inherited double copies of the bookworm gene from a mom who reads voraciously and a dad who once spent his downtime writing in the crane he operated.

Her first two novels, As You Wish, a time travel, and Eternally Yours, a ghost romance, were originally published by Jove (Penguin Group USA). After that, Jen's love for Jane Austen led to several works set in Regency England--one from Leisure Books and three from Zebra. In recent years, her fascination with archaeology inspired The Five-Day Dig, a contemporary mystery/romance set near Pompeii; Seventh Sanctuary, a steamy novella of ancient Sumeria; and Templum, a time travel featuring a modern heroine and an ancient-Roman hero.

Her new novella Wish I Might is the prequel to As You Wish. Next up is the third installment in the series.

Jen and her husband, Martin, an Aussie ex-pat, live outside of Philadelphia but travel to see ancient ruins and Formula 1 races as often as they can. She's an art enthusiast, a fan of film, and the proud aunt of three amazing nephews.

Descriptions and sample chapters for all of Jen's books are available at jenmalin.com.

This fun, fast read keeps you on your toes. The characters are very likeable and the plot is suspenseful without being stressful. The descriptions of ancient Rome are vivid but do not weigh the story down. I also enjoyed her treatment of time travel, it was a nice change from the usual time travel tale laden with caveats.
From start to finish, this action-packed romance keeps you turning pages and wanting more! I look forward to reading more of Jennifer Malin's books!

Felt like I was back in ancient Rome while I was reading this. The story's set right before the eruption of Mount Vesuvius, an event in history I've always found fascinating, given all of the bodies they dug up around Vesuvius. And so there's mounting suspense throughout the story as the eruption approaches. One of the main characters is a time traveler from our time period, and so she's like a Cassandra, carefully trying to warn everyone that death is approaching without giving away her time-traveling secret, but few people pay attention. The other main character is a man who works in a temple as a priest, and he employs several steampunk-like devices to make it appear he has a direct line to the gods...but of course the time traveler figures out his game and one-ups him as the passion between them grows. Really a fun read! Highly recommended.

Templum is an excellent read! Looking for a fast-paced, historical romance with time travel, strong female characters, smart and confident male characters and lots of action? Look no further. I highly recommend any of Jennifer Malin's books. They show her passion about the subject matter, are suspenseful but never anxiety-inducing and you feel for the characters immediately. I truly enjoyed this book!

""Templum" is based on some interesting ideas. It also, however, has obvious limitations. A lack of variety in pace becomes very frustrating. There is a tendency for scenes to go on and on in the same vein, until the reader becomes bored with the sameness of the dialogue and the scene itself. The story could have been written with more appeal.
