Aly and Dillion were so much fun to read and may have restored my enjoyment of this author.
Dillion Alexander the commitment-phobe is just the best friend a girl could ask for. He’s’ hot, always calls or texts if he’s going to be late, like’s Aly’s cooking and is always there for her. But though he lusts after her, he will never cross that line because he doesn’t want to break her heart and hurt her. Commitment just isn’t in his DNA.
Alyssa Miller is literally the girl next door. Best friend since grade school to Dillon, in love with him for nearly as long and since he won’t or can’t see the signals she’s putting out about to dive in to a one night stand with a romance book cover model to get past her infatuation with Dillon.
“Dillon, a.k.a the guy she fantasized about more often than an OCD germaphobe washes their hands in a day.”
It was hilarious to see his reaction when she tells him of her plans. But what was even funnier was what he does to stop that. A Tarzan costume was never put to better use.
These two clearly need to be together and with the chemistry they have its hard to believe they held out as long as they did before crossing that line between friends and lovers.
Through the steam there is lots of laughs and some heart felt moments that will leave you wanting to hug both characters. Okay maybe Dillon a little longer and with some grabby hands involved.
“Cupping the sides of her face, Dillon obliterated the last inch that lay between their past and their future.”
Oh and I can’t forget to mention the scene at the airport. It was a total Hollywood moment and perfect for these two.
Plus there’s a fun, flirty and kind of hot epilogue that will leave you asking like me if Dillon’s sister is next to get a book. I for one hope so.
If you are a after a fun poolside/beachside or ignore the family for a couple of hours read, then this is the perfect escape.
It was sweet and cute. Aly and Dillon were likeable characters, who had reasonably reasons to hold back.
The only thing that brought this story down from four stars to three stars for me, was Dillons "sleeping with anything that moves" ways, before he finally came to his senses about Aly.
I always find it disappointing and slightly off putting when the H has a revolving bedroom door, especially when this one claims he's loved her for years.
Is that meant to show that he's a real man? He's attractive to other women? He's a stud?
I don't know, but I just find it slightly gross.
