She is a wanderer but stumbles upon a reason to stay in Marietta. Charlotte remembers a fund-raising calendar she (as a photographer) made in England and offers her expertise in getting the calendar together. The "Men of Marietta" are honoring a lost friend and building a community center as a safe haven for the kids in the town, but they need more funds to finish the project on time. The idea of each of them posing as a month of the year brings a variety of reactions, but they all agree it is for a better cause than their egos. Some are more difficult to round up than others. Deputy Tate is a hold-out but Charlotte makes short work of him.
If you like steamy romances, Wowsa! This book will not disappoint.
They both have damage from their pasts, but they certainly worked well together. Charlotte did a great job of getting Logan out of his comfort zone and getting him to relax, instead of being the intense deputy all the time.
I also loved the compassion of Charlotte with her offer of photographing the men of Marietta for a fundraising calendar. She was new to the area but jumped right in, even though her initial motivation was just to get Logan riled up.
This is the story of Logan and Charlotte, aka Charlie. It's not that I didn't like it enough, I just didn't love it. There's nothing WRONG with the story, I just felt like it was missing things. I felt like there was a lot more story to be told but we didn't get it in this book. BUT it is a really good start to the series.
The intro of how to raise money for Harry's House was a great scene. Love that Charlie was a strong woman and matched Logan's alpha personality.
