There's so much I want to say, but at the same time so little because any detail will give away the beauty behind this heartbreaking story.
All I know is that my heart fell in love with Everett and Parker. Both were lost souls that found each other when they needed it the most. They became each other's strength, and Everett showed Parker how to live while Parker showed Everett how to fight.
Be prepared to embark on a journey of self discovery, acceptance and overall healing. You learn and grow alongside these wonderful characters. It was one of those stories that will have you feeling so many emotions and at times you become frustrated. Whitney! How dare you put water in my eyes! Thank you for this beautiful story of learning to live and showing us how powerful love can be.
This book is exactly what I needed. EXACTLY. I could feel myself slowly sinking into a book slump and this book was the remedy. It is absolutely amazing! Hands down one of the best books I have EVER read. It made me feel so many different things and forced me to open my eyes and look at the world in a different way. BRILLIANT.
Where do I even begin!? I am speechless. Seriously, I finished this a couple days ago and I have been thinking about it nonstop. How do I write a review to do this book justice!? It’s that good.
First, bravo to Whitney Barbetti for writing such a deep and honest book that will give you so many emotions. You won’t know how to feel. You will be elated, angered, frustrated, depressed and so happy, I was.
There are so many great things about this book. The characters are so complex and relatable! The plot is fast paced yet doesn’t skip over any details. There are twists and turns that will keep you sitting on the edge of your seat. And then…the one thing that automatically makes an amazing book in my eyes…when I can’t stop reading yet I don’t want to finish! I wanted to savor everything…every paragraph, sentence, word. I felt the internal speed reader inside me struggling and I had to take breaks, short breaks, to catch my breath.
This book broke me and I loved every second of it. I am honestly not going to write a long review. This book speaks for itself and you just have to read it.
Parker phew so much to say about her, without giving too much away but I will try. She is raw, she is hiding with in herself and she doesn't even know it. She has so much but she exits in life she doesn't live. She thinks of herself as indifferent but that’s so far from it.
Meeting Everett was one of the best things to have happen to her, I say one of the best because the best thing was her having the courage to open up even if she didn't realize she was doing it.
Everett is going to break your hearts, in good and bad ways. This book is going to stick with me for so long because the connection these two have it’s unreal. It’s as if they heal each other. Meant to be and all that jazz.
The audiobook is Fan-Freaking-Tastic, I wasn't sure if I was going to like the narration because it’s so raw so unemotional for most of it, but it’s perfect for the book. Natasha Soudek was Parker in my eyes. I am blown away again because it was just so damn good.
*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*
I never wanted to put this book down. I wanted to devour it from the beginning. I was drawn to the characters and wanted to know their stories. I became emotionally involved with them and went on their emotional rollercoaster with them.
After I finished the book I couldn't write my review right away. I wanted to think about what I said. I usually just write "its a good book" "I recommend reading this book". But with what Whitney Barbetti was able to create in Ten Below Zero is amazing. It's not only a good book, it's a must read. I don't just recommend that you read it, I demand that you read it.
The only problem I had with this book, and it's a big one, is that the editing just kind of petered out midway through the book. The first half only had a few errors, but the last half had multiple. Per page. It started to detract from the beautiful story and at that point, I began to actually get pissed off. I was pissed off because this book is phenomenal. Seriously, it is by far my favorite book of the year, and will probably have no problems remaining in that spot. This story is so gut-wrenching, so touching, so powerful. It needs to be devoured by everyone I know.
I hate that I can't give it 5 stars, but with so many editing errors, I just can't give it that last star. On the story and content, it's a 10. I love it that much. I only hope that the author will seek out experienced beta readers and a good editor for any future books. I will most definitely be following the author and cannot wait to see the progress.
