AC15

Gaming & UHD Streaming

AC15 is built to handle all your high-bandwidth online activities. The router has a total speed of up to 1900Mbps. It delivers both 1300Mbps 802.11ac at 5GHz and 600Mbps 802.11n at 2.4 GHz concurrently. Plus the Broadcom dual-core processor, you can enjoy lag-free bandwidth demanding entertainments fully, such as the UHD video streaming and online gaming.

Beamforming+ Enhances the WiFi Range and Stability

Beamforming+ technology locks on to your WiFi receiving devices rather than simple blast WiFi in all directions. It also reduces interference from other devices for stronger WiFi connections so you can enjoy high-bandwidth activities easily.

USB3.0 for sharing & wireless printing

Without copying files one by one, you can simply share all the files by plugging your flash drive onto the USB port at the back of the router.

When the USB drive is plugged onto the router, users connected within the same wireless network can now start printing with their own devices, saves you the hassle from extra work of downloading and printing from that one specific computer connected to the printer.

Smart Management for Your Healthy E-life

Set your ideal time range, AC15 will turn on/off Wifi and LED indicator automatically to create low-power consumption & healthy E-life for baby, mother or your whole families.

    Tenda AC15 1900AC Router $66 - Has potential but...
Did you know... That your router is using only broadcasting about 80% of its actual throughput strength because of FCC restrictions? That is correct. Now, typically you have to flash your router to DD-WRT firmware and walk through pages of a "geeks only" Wiki to fix this. But you change this by changing your "Region" settings in your router setup to Canada instead of the US. On THIS cheap Chinese router however it's right in the initial setup. When setting up this router it will detect your actual region, but if you are in the US go ahead and use that drop-down menu and change that to Canada and experience an increased signal strength on me haha. This is my signal from the street corner on this router. First picture is my house front and center. Second is the connection I was actually able to make from there. Not a great one, but for a $66 router that ain't bad. That being said I am not using this as my primary router. Given the option to get this, or the ASUS RT-87U refurbished for $139 I would pick the ASUS every time. ASUS RT-AC87U Wireless-AC2400 Dual Band Gigabit Router, AiProtection with Trend Micro for Complete Network Security That is my primary router, and if you select "Used and new from:" you can get it for about $135 with prime shipping at this time. I'm telling you it's the size of a small spaceship but THAT router is a beast! Make that your primary and then skip buying Wi-Fi cards for your desktops and get this or one of the more inexpensive Tenda routers and connect them to your PC's in repeater mode and shut the Wi-Fi off (also known as media bridge mode). That my friends is how you get an AC Wi-Fi connection in Linux. Trust me, you don't want to try all the Geekery involved with getting an actual AC Wi-Fi card to work in AC mode in Linux. Which I am still not convinced is possible. Can you tell I'm excited about having over 100Mb/s+ connections through my whole house?Side story, I scared the b-Jesus out of the Amazon driver by accident. He walked past my open garage door to the front door to knock. I walked out of my garage and up behind him. Didn't mean to scare him but sure did.Maybe from now on I don't put on exam gloves and a bloody apron to greet delivery guys unless they can see me coming.Kidding! But I did realize, upon returning to my garage that the playlist I was blasting had shuffled to the theme song from Dexter hahaha. And if this router glitches and drops my connection ONE MORE TIME I'm returning it.[And it stopped dropping connections right after I threatened it. Still going very strong as a wireless bridge between my main router and my desktop.]

Excellent router. Low cost. Arrived in 2 day in spite of the much longer shipping time shown on the site.
The password was a little confusing. The default on the label is actually for both wifi and setup url. Other routers usually have open security for the default wifi and "admin" or "password" for setup url.
I used this to replace a 2-router setup of router and ap. The default setup ip address for the Tenda AC15 is 192.168.0.1 where as my old system was 192.168.1.1. I was afraid that I have to do a lot of messing around to get my existing devices to work with this router. It turned out it was no work at all. I just change the AC15 ip to my old router's, it figured out the subnet automatically. Then I changed the SSID, wifi password, DHCP range, setup url password to my old system and all the devices in the house worked. The signal range is excellent and the strength is stronger at the most remote corner of my house even without an ap. I am getting about 90 down and 11 up mbps from wifi 25 feet away(straight line) with many walls in between. I have 2 laptops, 2 cell phones (using wifi calling), 2 tablets, 1 voip phone, 1 smart tv, 1 roku, 2 android TV boxes, 1 wireless printer, 1 nas, and all are working without any issues, granted I am not using all of them at the same time.
There is an on/off switch for the router which I think is important. I zapped my old router when power cycle the unit by pulling the power cable. Beside the password, the other thing I don't like about the AC15 is there are only 3 lan ports when 4 ports are more universal for other routers. Customers may get a surprise finding out there is an extra ethnet cable with no place to go.

Additional comments after running about 2 weeks:
The router continue to perform well. However, I did found some short comings. There is option to install VPN on the router. But the protocols are limited to PPTP and L2TP. According to my VPN provider, these are not very secure protocols. I was going to install it anyway. Then I found a very stupid restriction On the user name and password for the VPN account (which is none of Tenda's business), it is restricted to alphanumeric and underscore. It is very common for any type of accounts to use email address as user name. The "@" in the email violated the restriction that means I can't set up the VPN with the latest Tenda firmware. I did further searching, you can actually flash "Tomato" firmware to this router. But with Tomato, the 5G speed is very slow. Since I did not want to give up the 5G speed, I passed on the Tomato firmware.
I know Tenda is monitoring the reviews, I hope you guys will update the firmware to support open vpn and also remove the meaningless restrictions on VPN account user name and password.

I've now had this router for about a month. I had never heard of this brand, but PC Magazine liked it so I figured what the heck. I had owned an ASUS AC-66U which for a long time was the fastest AC wifi router you could get for less than $200. But that router constantly had problems and eventually it just died and I couldn't bring it back. No amount of emergency firmware injection could save her. To the closet of hardware despair the Asus went.

When my town went from 2.74Mb download Verizon DSL to 90+Mb LoS wifi broadband I knew I needed to step it up in the router dept. again. I didn't have a lot of cash so I got the best reviewed AC router I could find. Despite the fact it only has 3 ethernet jacks rather than the typical 4, and the wifi speeds aren't blazing compared to some, it does make up for that with a nice package, a simple and you could say elegant interface and thus far solid firmware. It has not crashed a single time in a month, something I can't say about any other router I've ever owned, including the 10yo Netgear 300n router that has been the backbone of my network for nearly a decade. Every time the ASUS died, I'd get the Netgear out for a few days and it would work time and time again. But it needed reboots somewhat frequently.

So far, that isn't true with the Tenda. We're pretty heavy users of internet in my house. Two adults, two kids. If your kids are anything like the two I've inherited, they spend most of their time watching YouTube clips of people screaming at Minecraft videos. So they each have a PC, one wired and one not. One has a cell phone, the other has an iPad. My girlfriend and I each have an iPhone 6, and Macbook Pro's. I also have a PS4, Wii, 2 Chromecasts, a Lenovo tablet for the Chromecasts and an Onkyo home theater receiver on the network. I have the adult gear on the 5.0Ghz AC channel, and the kids stuff on the 2.4Ghz N. The PS4 and one of the PC's is on the wired network, running through an 8 port gigabit router. With Netflix and two kids streaming YouTube incessantly I've seen exactly one incidence of buffering. Who knows, that could have been my new ISP, rather than my network or the router.

I work in IT, and while this isn't pro gear it is easy to use. It doesn't have a lot of QoS stuff you can set up on it, but it does the basics very, very well. From what I can see, this is a good piece of gear if you need a moderate capacity and have more than a handful of devices to connect. If It should start to smoke or catch fire I'll update my review, but I see no reason to deduct any stars from this review and would recommend it to anyone needing to save some cash but still wants AC performance.

This product has functioned without error for 1 month that I have had.
    User interface: 7/10
It is effective and simple to learn how to use, there are a few limits that it doesn’t do despite offering the options.
Parental controls are simple and effective for limiting device connectivity, however it only means if they use the WiFi to connect to the internet then it can’t be used. Phone hotspots ignore this.
Website filters are not working but other than that everything is very quick to understand including data caps on how much the device can use while connected,

Other controls allow you to create guest networks so you don’t have to give out your actual WiFi password which I highly recommend changing from the default one they give on the box.
Because I use a provider that has data caps I make use of the schedule tool to make sure there are no times at the middle of the night when I’m asleep and something is using data. This is a very useful thing to me as a cash strapped college student cause I can’t pay for more data cap extensions.
The other tools are fully effective and the range on the router is phenomenal. It supports 5g internet and regular internet which reach through my house with no difficulty on signal speeds. I would recommend fiddling with the antennas and transmit power through the app to ensure full signal strength if you have multiple floors.

To sum this up, it’s a great product that I haven’t had any issues with and provides almost every single feature you could ask for. Despite a few features not functioning like advertised through their app, there are no complaints from me about the cheap and effective router that certainly over performs for the price you pay.

I hope this helped given my own experience with this router and company.

5.0 out of 5 stars El mejor ruteador.
Reviewed in Mexico on September 20, 2019
