When I went searching for a way to turn the HDMI into either VGA or DVI WITH audio, I thought I would end up with some bulky box behind the monitor. I was pleasantly surprised when I found this adapter. It allows me to split the HDMI into VGA and Audio in a small package without having to have an additional power requirement.
The only issue I've run into is the speaker bar for my monitor slightly obstructs the audio cable coming out of this, but that is in no way the fault of this adapter and ultimately they still work together without issue.
I had absolutely no issue in Windows 10 using this either. It just worked when I plugged it in. I got sound and video.

I had a recent home project where we put a computer in the foyer for the kids to use (family computer). We didn't want to have an actual computer there, so I used my old HTPC in my rack in my utility room. Because of this, I had to run video and USB to the wall where the monitor would go. This adapter works perfectly! I'm using it to plug a FireTv Stick to an old Samsung TV that has no HDMI port.
