Meltdown Risk
I purchased this package, received it in early Dec 2015, and began using the batteries in a relatively low-current-drain application. I only used one battery at a time, and I recharged them in pairs using the supplied charger. Approximately 9 months later, while sitting in a charged state, one of the batteries melted, damaging the adjacent battery in the process. (See photo.) Again, the batteries were not being charged when this happened. I'm obviously alarmed by the prospect of a house fire, especially if it just happens at random while I'm away from home. It's unclear how much heat was released, but it didn't damage the surrounding surfaces, despite having melted the casing and distorted the adjacent battery. The other good news is that I did get 9 months of infrequent use from the batteries, and the charger works as advertised and hasn't melted, yet.I contacted the seller and was advised that the batteries were beyond the "30 day return policy and 90 day warranty" and that they were "unable" (as opposed to unwilling) to issue a replacement. They offered no comment on the failure. They did state that if I had hastened to discover their design defect within the warranty period (using different words, regrettably), they would have been "happy to issue a replacement", suggesting, I suppose, that their happiness in fulfilling the minimal terms of their contract is somehow a factor. At the end of the day, I'm not upset about them not replacing the defective batteries. That's fair, and they have no legal obligation to do so. Based on the short product life, I won't buy their products anymore. But I _am_ upset over the thought that to save a few dollars, I bought rechargeable 9V batteries that might have burned down my home. Based on THAT, I'm obligated to caution others.Admittedly, batteries are inherently risky, and the more energy dense they are, the higher the risk. So, maybe Tenergy's failure rates are comparable to the industry norm, and I happened to draw the short straw. <shrug> But I won't buy any more and encourage you to trade off the risks carefully if you do buy them. More significantly, I encourage buyers to remember that this can happen 9 months after purchase with light use, so it's clearly not an infant mortality / assembly issue. Buyer beware, and take steps to protect yourself.Note that I buy a lot of eneloop batteries, because alkaline AA and AAA cells leak and destroy nearly everything I put them in. But I've never had 9V alkalines leak, so I may stick to them. In the meanwhile, I'll either store my Tenergy rechargeables in an ammo can and supervise their charge cycles... or realize that it's not worth the pain in the rear and just toss them. Two stars for 9 months of light use and for catastrophically failing without catching my house on fire. Yay.

My wife has a Karaoke Machine and the Cordless Mic's use 9Volt batteries. We were going through quite a few batteries which just seemed like a waste of money

I ordered this set of Tenergy Rechargeable 9volts with a few back up sets of batteries to keep stored, and we've never had to buy another set of batteries

Only thing I dont like is when the batt's are on the charger, the charger hums loudly. We just have to plug it into a different room so we dont hear the hum

These work great, last a long time and have paid for themselves multiple times already

I knew nothing about this brand and took a chance based on the reviews. Ordinary NiMH 9V retail for about $10 each, so getting 4 and a charger for about $30, inclusive of S&H, is still a good deal, assuming at worst, the battery and charger are like any ordinary NiMH 9V or a simple timer based 9V charger.

The packaging and products build quality are first rate, as good as name brands like Energizer or Duracell.

    Charger
It not only shuts off based on reaching the final voltage, but has a backup timer to prevent overcharging. Out of box, the batteries top up in < 1 hour, and this was confirmed because I did it 4x, one for each battery. On a depleted battery I had at home it was fully charged in under 2 hours. It does not get hot to touch. It works as described with the LED being RED when charging, and turning green when charge completed. The charger is very small and pocket sized.

    Battery
9V batteries are made of multiple cells in series, it can have 6,7,8 giving a final voltage of 7.5, 8.4 and 9.6Vdc. Cheaper 9V use 6 cells, and the benefit of having more cells is that often devices powered with 9V batteries turn off when it detects low voltage, so more cells mean the battery will last longer in use, even with the same mAH. The end charge voltage of these cells are 9.7V, so one can be sure its anything but a 6 cell 9v.

I was skeptical whether these batteries were truly low self discharge. Its been about 1 mo since I charged 3 tenergy batteries and one new standard NiMH 9V together, and after this time, the standard NiMH has self discharged to 8V while these cells are still 9.7V!

I've been using one of the tenergy in a multimeter, and surprisingly it still reads full after over a month of use. When used with a 6 cell 9v NiMH it will register 50% in 2 weeks.

One of the battery terminals arrived damaged. Granted, I bought it in "used - like new" condition, and I expect this is why it was originally returned. I was able to fix the terminal with pliers so that the battery can snap on to the charger.

Otherwise, works as it should. The Tenergy LSD batteries are great in general.

These 9 volt batteries don't hold a charge as long as non-rechargeables, but given the price of these rechargeable they are well worth the $. I purchased 4 extra of these batteries and keep a rotation for my daily device needs. So far all have held a charge well, and I have no reason to be skeptical of the sellers claim that they can be recharged up to 1000 times. So far, so good.

I have some digital multi-meters that require a 9 volt battery. The non rechargeable 9 volts i have been buying seem to last a shorter and shorter time. Time to conserve and get the rechargeable 9 volts to cut costs and keep my meters and tech tools working. These seem to do just the job i need. The charger that came with these looks of good quality and has overload/charge protection.

I decided to buy rechargable 9 volts for the smoke alarm. It seems to charge easily with the provided charger.

I realized though that the rechargable 9 volts are slightly larger (longer) than regular 9 volt batteries. It was a slight problem when I used it in the remote control for a toy car. Since it was larger, the battery went in but didn't come out easily.

I bought the system to run guitar pedals rather than have wires leading to the pedals. Regular 9v batteries are so expensive and my pedals go thru batteries quickly.

The charger works as it should and the batteries charge relatively quickly (I haven't timed them). I have no real concept of how long they are supposed to last in my pedals, so I can't really comment. Hence three stars. Don't read the three stars as anything negative.

The unit works as it should, albeit a little pricey. Harbor Freight tools had a heavier duty charger on sale for $15 with similarly priced batteries. Still I'm ok with this unit.

This 9V rechargeable must have 8x1.2V packaged together as it's multimeter measurement when fully charged shows 9.6V which is exceptional and suggests very good in-use performance can be expected.

If it lives up to its 'low discharge' status and advertised long battery life it would certainly be highly recommended.

The one downside is that having bought this from an Australian Amazon web site no obvious mention was made that it shipped from the USA and that a plug adapter would be required at additional cost AU$8 - this should be corrected.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great battery once you loosen the female contacts
Reviewed in Canada on July 14, 2015
When reviewing Amazon.com reviews about this product, the common complaint by nearly everyone was that the male connection on the battery pulled off and could not be reattached making the battery useless. When I received my four batteries and charger, I used a flat screw driver blade to bend the female connections slightly larger on all batteries, charger and devices using these batteries. Now the connections slip on very easily and put very little strain on the battery connections. So far this has worked, and the batteries and charger perform perfectly. The charger has LEDS that change color from red to green when each battery is fully charged. The electric plug on the charger swivels flat for storage or travel. I now note that the supplier I ordered from Vision Store USA is no longer available on Amazon.ca and although the price is the same from the new supplier, the cost of postage has doubled which seems very extreme.
Update Nov/15-I have now used these batteries for 5 months and they have all performed perfectly with no problem with the connections
pulling loose after I loosened them. I'm so impressed with these batteries, I have now purchased 12 batteries and use them in all my security devices which is saving me a ton of money. I note that they are again available from the Vision store with the reasonable postage charges.
