We've had CFL bulbs in overhead fixtures that made a irritating high pitched buzzing noise, took forever to reach full brightness, and gave off a terrible, irritating light. Been wanting to get rid of them for a long time, but LEDs have just been too expensive. When I saw these I had to buy a box. No more buzzing, instant on, direct replacement for the old incandescents, cooler operation, only 9 watts, and the light (soft white version) is bright but pleasant. If they're anywhere close to as long-lived as they claim they'll be easily worth the money. Only time will tell.
Edit: Upon receiving my order of 16 bulbs I immediately installed 9 of these. Approximately one month after, one of them failed. I contacted Tenergy through a link on their website and received a very quick response. Upon providing proof of purchase they sent me a replacement bulb via two-day shipping. Although this was a disappointment to have such an early failure, I'm sticking with my five star rating due to the customer service they provided in honoring their warranty. Additional early failures will be reported here.
Edit 2: After a year and a half I’ve had 8 of these bulbs fail. Usually they start flickering off and on. Although Tenergy was good about replacing my first bad one I just haven’t bothered to contact them after that. The hours on these are minimal - they should be lasting for years, not months. I guess you get what you pay for. The price seemed too good to be true, and it was. Dropping the review rating to 3.
