My wife and I both read Tennessee Tails and enjoyed it from start to finish. The book is a great read, a real page turner. Dr. Primm's stories will make you laugh and shed a few tears. The book is informative too, her ability to blend her experience with the view of the owner, and the life of the pet together makes for a special book!

Be prepared: you will need (1) cozy chair; (2) a good reading light; and(3) a box of strong tissues, because I guarantee that you will cry. You are going to laugh out loud a lot, and if you've ever owned a cat or a dog, you will empathize some too, but cry you will! I strongly recommend this one to pet lovers everywhere. This reader found it very refreshing to read personal stories written by a professional who obviously loves her work and her clients, and she respects their owners even when they "use" their pets for their lovers' trysts. (At least the puppy was getting good care while the owner was receiving "care" of another type.) That one made me laugh out loud. A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon's read.

A very personal, engaging, and touching look inside the life of a caring professional veterinarian. Dr. Primm shows us how she loves not only the animals, but cares for their people, too. Set aside the time to read cover to cover-you won't want to put it down!

This is a lovely book, full of stories that hit home. She evenly covers both dogs and cats, showing equal love and respect for both. She goes from story to story at a quick, easy pace, not getting bogged down in college history, nor too detailed in specific veterinarian lingo. Beautifully written, easy to read, filled with laughter and sadness, with a touch of advice that readers can take on board and learn from, but not distracting from the story at hand. Well done, looking forward to her next book, just one complaint, book needs to be longer, as finished this one WAY too quickly.

This is a terrific read, and a heartwarming privileged entrée into the world of an obviously caring and skilled vet and some of her many four-legged patients.

Full of little vignettes that will make you want Dr Primm as YOUR vet.

All the 'tails' are true accounts of this authors veterinary practice. Some are funny, some will bring tears to your eyes, but everyone is from the heart of the author. It's plain to see she loves animals and is good at her job. I liked how she gave a bit of her personal background & her supporting & loving family.
I look forward to more from Dr. Primm

How many times have you wondered about the stories your vet could tell about his pet patients and their people? Well, here is a behind the scenes peek.

Obviously told from the heart, Tennessee Tails is charming and often humorous. Primm writes in a chatty, personal style. Almost immediately, you'll feel you're having a conversation with a friend.

The stories are fairly evenly divided between cats and dogs, so devotees of either should be pleased. Though ailments and diseases are involved, Primm does an excellent job of making sure we understand the situation without unnecessary, detailed medical lingo.

Some stories will make you cry; some will make you laugh. You may come away from this book wishing you lived near Chattanooga and could avail yourself of Dr. Primm's services. I say that because throughout the book, her concern for her patients and respect for their human caretakers, shines through.

I highly recommend Tennessee Tails: Pets and Their People by Kathryn Primm DVM and look forward to more of her tales from the heart in the future.

If you need another good reason to grab a copy of this book, here you go: 100% of net proceeds from the sales of this book for the first year will benefit The Pet Placement Center in Red Bank, TN and the Humane Educational Society in Chattanooga, TN.

I love buying a book from a local author, especially one who gives back to the community! This is a quick read about the author's background as a vet as well as a collection of stories of her experiences over the years. You'll enjoy reading the stories, but also you'll appreciate the fact that she donates a lot back to local shelters. If you're an animal lover it's a win/win.
