Khalifa's novel is authoritative, lively, and intriguing--an undeniable page-turner. Action-filled sequences and meticulous plotting result in a fun and well-rounded thriller. The prose is descriptive and acute, and it is clear that Khalifa acts on seasoned authorial impulses. Potentially dry information is delivered dynamically, and as the scenes race by, the imagery lingers--sometimes hauntingly. This fast paced mystery is set apart from other politically minded mystery-thrillers by its specificity and its fully inhabited characters. Khalifa's work delivers a fresh and multifaceted take on the genre. Rooted in their past traumas, the characters are empathetic, well-developed, and believable. While the forces for good and evil are apparent, Khalifa renders villains and heroes with nuance.

Reading Khalifa is a like reading a combination of Robert Ludlum, Tom Clancy, Dan Brown, and John Case - all wrapped in one. Seriously. It contains great character development with good setting detail, lots of twists and turns, complex plot with several sub-plots going in parallel, terrorist machinations, hostages, government agents, all wrapped in political intrigue. Like Clancy, his attention to detail and technical accuracy shows he's done his research; adding that dimension of realism.
"Terminal Rage" kept me involved and guessing the entire time. The inner story and outer story lines were deep, engaging, believable, and relatable. One can only hope that several of these characters become the central point in a series of future "Rage" novels from A.M. Khalifa. If this is indeed the case, then I will have to continuing buying this fine author's various works - and add them to my library - along with Clancy, Ludlum, Brown, and Case!
Needless to say, I highly recommend "Terminal Rage" by A.M. Khalifa. - Michael Jones (ToasterX)
I loved the notions of hard-won justice and doing WHATEVER is necessary in order for this to be accomplished; I identified with the underlying ideas of prioritizing what is important in life, and streamlining your choices, accordingly, and I also appreciated the ending. Equally so, I applaud the obvious research and dedication the author poured into the story. If real life FBI agents and higher ups give their kudos, the details must be on point.
I will be honest, the editing could have been tighter, some of the scenes and/or the descriptions could have been scaled down a bit, and at times, I stretched to connect the relationships between the characters. However, for me, the book accomplished what it set out to do--to shock and to thrill. With such an intricate plot, and the openness of the ending, a follow-up book can't help but be on the horizon at some point. If/when a sequel is released, I will gladly pick it up and delve back into the story. So, perhaps this book has turned me into a political thriller fan, after all.
