I've probably worn dozens of different pairs of thermals and this is by far the best, for a few reasons:

1) the fit. Probably due to the extra amount of spandex they put in it, and general engineering, but it holds closer to my body and retains shape after longer periods of time.

2) moisture wicking. They work really well at keeping you cool and dry when most other similar thermals do not.

3) general warmth. These keep me as warm as any light weight or medium weight thermal I've ever worn, at generally a much thinner, lighter, and closer fitting size.

4) a front fly. I've reviewed a couple other pairs that I recently owned that were lacking this feature. While it wasn't necessarily a deal breaker for someone who uses the bathroom maybe 3 times a day, it was still a nuisance that I did not wish to replicate by purchasing more pants without this feature (even if at a lower cost).

The only problem I have with this (and everything I buy) is the price. To me I would probably claim everything is overpriced. However, these are not so much though that I will continue to buy these next season and wear them again (hopefully they dont go out of stock!). Amazon unfortunately did not sell these when I purchased them a few months ago, or I would've gotten them from here.

BTW, I also got the Thermolator shirt, glove liners, and beanie liner - all equally good.

This under layer had the most static cling of the two brands that I purchased. I wear this under layer with causal pants (cotton and synthetic). I noticed that, although the Terramar had a smoother surfaces than the other brand, the Terramar had so much cling that I could not wear the pant with comfort. In addition, the Terramar does not have an elastic ankle cuff. Consequently, the cuff tend to rise up on the calf. I believe that this type of under layer maybe better suited for wearing under a pant of heavier weight(blue jeans). However, if static cling and ankle cuffs are not important for your purpose, I think that this under layer is just as effective as a the other brand.

i purchased this as a gift for my hubby for his birthday. He enjoys hiking and long walks during the cooler weather and these help keep his lower body nice and toasty. Especially this year we had a brutal winter in the Northeast and the chilly wind was howling some days. He wore the thermolators underneath his regular sports/hiking pants and he said he did not feel the chill. Best thing about them is they are not too tight and not loose they fit just rights. He also found them to be breathable and didn't make his body sweat. If your looking for a supportive pair of underlayer pants these are good... I hope this is helpful for somebody

Retains the heat well when covered. Cools quickly when not covered.

This thermal feels a little like tights. I bought the large and I were a 36 x 32 pant and there was lots of leg room left. I wear this in 28-45 degree temperatures on a motorcycle. It kept me from freezing, but if you were spending more than an hour under 32 degrees without working out you would probably need another layer.

It was very comfortable to move from cold temps to office temps, so that I did not have to remove them.

Product is good and as expected. I just wish the company would update the description to indicate that this is a 'level 2' pair of pants in terms of heat retention and that the product line has levels 1 through 4. Had I known this, i would probably have bought warmer ones, even if these will probably serve my needs.

Silky smooth and super stretchy, zero restriction of movement, ideal base layer to wear under a heavier long underwear pant for very cold weather. I like Terramar's Military Fleece Pant over these which have a looser fit. Great combo to wear under outer pants for a triple layer. These are lightweight/silkweight, thus alone only for moderate cold, but a superb base layer.

These thermal underwear kept me really warm when I was in Iowa and South Dakota last winter.
I am 5'7" with a 30" or less waste. I probably should have bought small. But the mediums do fit, though the waste band is a little loose and there is some extra material in the legs.

These kept me quite comfortable this past and long Vermont winter. It was colder than usual and more snow than usual. I didn't experience anything uncomfortable and this Thermolator II was a big part of my comfort!
