Really fun, the bosses are challenging, and the music is great too. The only drawback is that the developers first add things (like new items, enemies, etc.) into the PC version first, leaving anyone with a console version out in the cold. The 1.2 patch for this game just came out, and neither 505 Games or Engine Software has announced a release date for the 1.2 patch for the PS3 version. That being said, they have spoken publicly about planning to add all the material to the console version, with an expected date around early 2014.
So if you just don't like playing games on a computer, give it a try. By the time you actually do most of the early stuff in the game, the patch will (hopefully) be available as free DLC!!
For people who have not heard of this game, it started as an indie game, with a retro graphic style.
This serves 2 purposes:
1. this is a throwback, a tribute to the 8 bit era, when games really flourished.
2. it is to remind us, despite all the flashy technology, that gaming is not about graphics, but gameplay.
You start off choosing things like difficulty, creating your character, etc. then you get started on your adventure in 2D side-scrolling goodness.
I'm not going to spoil it for you guys, but you get to use different items and weapons, different enemies, environments, and also get to meet other players in-game. The official description is: "Terraria is a land of adventure! A land of mystery! A land that's yours to shape, to defend and to enjoy. Your options in Terraria are limitless. Are you an action gamer with an itchy trigger finger? A master builder? A collector? An explorer? There's something for everyone here."
The experience is hard to describe, very much like Minecraft in 2D. It involves a lot of exploration and adventuring, bashing monsters, digging for ore, collecting materials, and assembling items. All I have to say is, you have to try it for yourself. All in a vibrant 2D presentation.
Too bad there is no physical disc for the PS3 US and EU markets, and I was quite disappointed. The trade-off is that the price is lowered. If you really must have the physical copy, you can import it from the Japanese market.
However, if you are outside of Japan, it would be a good idea to get this version. The game would be DLC, but you get the bonuses which are quite fun to have.

The average is low because there are some dimwits that got the game without reading the fine print, so they thought they were getting a disc. Read morePublished on May 18, 2014 by Stephen/Larisa
