As a teenager in the 80s, this is exactly the type of movie I would rent from the local video store down the street from where I lived. My parents would give me their rental card, I'd go in there, go straight to the "Horror" section and find the craziest thing I could find. I saw stuff like "Videodrome", "Basket Case," "Alligator", "Faces of Death," "Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2" and a lot more. "Terrifier 2" not only fits right in with all of those, but I think that's the whole point of the movie. It's a throwback to those movies: the soundtrack, the cinematography, the over the top gore effects, everything.
I have to admit I fell for the marketing gimmick. When I heard people were passing out or vomiting, I knew I had to see it. I saw it in the theater, and yes, it is extremely violent. Is it the most violent movie I've ever seen? Probably not. I seem to remember Peter Jackson's zombie film "Dead Alive" being more violent than this, but it's been awhile since I saw that one. Actually, there's been episodes of "The Walking Dead" that are comparable to the violence in this.
The only reason I drop a star from the review is the length. It does seem to go on a bit too long and could have used some editing, especially in the last half. It is, however, a thousand times better than the first "Terrifier" film, which I thought was merely "ok."
After "Terrifier 2", I'm looking forward to part 3. Hopefully after the success of the first one, the director will have the budget and the creative freedom to top himself once again.

This movie is definitely not for everyone, but the writing & performances are so much better than the first film that it almost feels like an entirely different writer / director made it. The characters are mostly likable & well acted, and the dialogue in particular is leagues better than it was in 1. For a low budget film the look & feel of Terrifier 2 is fantastic, and the practical effects are impressive enough to warrant watching for them alone.
Art the clown is on the way to becoming an iconic horror villain, and Sienna Shaw is incredibly likable and elevates this movie way above what I ever expected from it. The plot is kind of all over the place at times, and most of this movie appears to be set up for a third film, but nonetheless it's one of the best movies of the year if you can handle the EXTREME violence & gore.

Honestly just writing this review to help offset the only review on here. If you’re a true slasher fan and fan of the original Terrifier, you’ll enjoy the sequel. Definitely not as jaw dropping as the first (cause come on, can you really top the hacksaw scene from the 1st??), but still a great film. Stays true to the 80s slasher vibe this time, film wise as well as plot. A little drawn out but overall going to be a great addition to the collection.

These movies should be avoided if you have a weak stomach or can't handle a ridiculously cartoonish amount gore and violence.
But, if you can, they're a good time. Art is a great villain who makes the viewer feel uneasy but can make you laugh too. The acting on his end is incredible. The lead in this movie is also very good, very likable, and I hope to see more of her and Art in the future. This has serious franchise potential.

Mean spirited, gory, at times unsettling, likable female actresses and a genuinly evil supernatural clown make for a fun slasher flick.
This is low budget, which means some of the acting is not the best and personally thought it was a too long.
That said, if you seen the original short film and Terrifier you must watch this sequel!
Can't wait for part 3!

Gorefest Ahoy! This film took everything great about Terrifier and expounded upon it twenty-fold. Even as a seasoned horror film lover I cringed many times throughout the film, sometimes laughing as I did so. If you liked 'Halloween' but wanted the same character dynamics of 'Nightmare on Elm Street' then here you have it. Is Leatherface not enough for you? Then you'll love Art the Clown!
The clown is a cross between Groucho Marx and Pinhead from Hellraiser. The actors are great and I really loved the drama between them. The kills make the SAW movies look like a children's cartoon, but in a grindhouse way, as most of them feel like they belong in an old 70's horror flick. You can almost literally see the seams in the 'dummies' that are dismembered and in certain scenes the plastic bones and fake blood are 'horrifically' evident visually. Yet this only lends to the charms of this film.
It knows what it is and what it's set out to accomplish, and it never disappoints. Substantiated rumors of viewers running out of the theater are very much true. I saw two people leave on October 6th in Indiana, gagging as they stumbled out of the theater. It reminded me of when I saw 'Inheritance' in theaters with my bud Neil. There was a guy in the back who I distinctly heard say "Oh, hell no!" and I vividly remember his footfalls as he slammed the theater door behind him.
I definitely saw one guy leave during the infamous 'SALT' scene in Terrifier 2. I won't lie, this scene will haunt me for the rest of my days, but I do remember laughing at this point as well.
The film reaches the point of gruesome slapstick often, much like the 'Feast' movies and many independent horror flicks of the past, but that makes the subtler, darker parts that much deeper and fulfilling as an audience member. After seeing it in theaters twice I'm certain Leone made the earlier gore and story a bit lighter than even 'All Hallow's Eve', just so he could really crank up the uncomfortable scenes in the last half of the film. I love it all.
I truly cannot wait for the collector's edition to be released in December.
