The writing here is up to the usual Scare Street standards. The characters are well developed and nary a one of them is close to perfect. They all had flaws. They all allowed their lust for what they didn't have lead to their undoing. Even Shane Ryan gets into the act in one of the stories, and he plays his role very well.
The last story, "Fatberg," deviates from the norm in that the evil doesn't manifest itself in ghosts but in a massive globule of sewage solids. As a retired wastewater treatment employee, this one struck home to me. I have seen personally several of these "fatbergs" and the resulting mess they make and while none of them were close to the monster in the story in size, trust me when I tell you that they can create a monstrous clean-up project. Perhaps it is good that I am retired. I don't know that I could ever face one of these things again and not think of the beast in this story.
Okay, get the book. Don't read it in the dark. Above all, don't let your curiosity get the better of you. You may not live to regret it.
Recommended for daytime reading on sunny days. Do not read at night alone....unless of course you like sleeping with all the Lights on.
