Great Kit, but Brightness concern

Great kit. Easy to install but under the hood, it's clearly aftermarket quality.

Brightness: At night, no doubt this looks great. During day, 'most' colors are simply not bright enough and goes double if there is any direct sunlight coming into the cabin; especially if selected colors are towards the BLUE or RED end of the spectrums.

Integration: The physical install itself, the material used, and the (spreader) tool included is perfect for the job. To most observers, even while inside of the car, one will not notice this install. Under the hood however, is a different story. The 12V cigarette adapter is too large (but does have a nice power OFF button), the fiber optic interface also seems a bit large given the size of the outgoing fiberoptic cable.. in fact, I bet some brightness is being left on the table due to non-optimal matching here.

The App: The app is "OK"; if you are the type that will 'set the color once and never touch it'; it's great. If you like to adjust the colors in the car frequently, it's horrible... as since the integration is 100% entirely dependent on this app; you'll find yourself 'fumbling for your phone' for non-trivial amount of times. It would have been better if there was some type of accessible control to change lighting without the app.

Heat: I've kept mine 'mostly' on BLUE. Heat is not an issue at either the fiberoptic (visible to passengers) or at the 12V adapter, or Fiber Optic module. Slightly warm, but not hot.

Cost: Given the cost, I think some of the above issues are forgiveable; so I'll maintain 4 stars.. really this is a 3star product if it was priced higher.

Simple & Elegant Cabin Ambiance; but...

This 3-strip light set Is beautiful. It is simple, clean, and functional — a perfect match for the clutter free interior of the Model 3.

I’m with reviewer Brandon S. I wondered if this would be cheesy compared to the clean and crisp surfaces of the Model 3 dash and console. I was also concerned about installation complications and heat generated by the power converter and LED thingies. None of these was/is an issue.

The added ambiance is SO COOL! I love it. Others think it is cool, too. It is tasteful, not gaudy or ghetto.

Two things things drop it down from 5 to 4 stars. First, at night, there is a prominent reflection of the dash strip on the front windshield. That was almost a showstopper for me. But because of how cool the dash looks, I decided to see what happened. I think I’m getting use to it and it is no longer a distraction.

The 2nd detractor is that it would be great if these strips were turned off and on by the Ambient light control. But this is only minor.

Installation of the dashboard strip required some effort—specifically, removing the side cover of the center console (required for getting LED power/control up to the dash. But the installation video made this fairly straightforward. I had to do a quick search on YouTube to get the video for the dash strip. 3-Stars for installation.

I love this product! Very easy for the most part and looks great. PLEASE be sure that you turn the AC off and wipe down the upper lip of the dash before applying the 3M. Being in FL and dealing with the humidity literally made it wet to the touch and the adhesive wouldn’t have stuck. The Classic Blue and the Purple you see in the pics are by far the best looking colors IMO

A Must have for Every Tesla!

Great product! Cohesive brightness throughout and not dim on one side of the dash as I was concerned about after reading some comments here. Adhesive tape was not initially strong enough but they include enough to redo it once. The second time I used adhesive promoter from another similar project first and that worked beautifully. The lights do go out on their in our Model Y after you leave the vehicle which I am very pleased about. It takes 15-20 minutes but they go out and come back on few seconds after you open the door. The app seems to work great and we love the ability to change the colors. Haven’t played with all it’s features yet. The button on the cigarette lighter plug is annoying because the organizer tray from the console sits directly against it so it’s not easy to access however since the lights come on and go off with the car I have no reason to use the physical button. You can also turn the lights on and off from the app. I was worried about installing something like this and then it stops working. The way this hooks up even if the lights would fail it would be easy enough to replace the lights and not the entire light tube but I’m hoping these will last a long time. This is a must have for every Tesla and Elon should have included this from the factory. I would buy this product again and I do recommend it.

Die Idee ist gut und eigentlich müsste das gut klappen. Leider ist bei mir auf einer Seite der Lichtleiter gebrochen gewesen. Jetzt sieht man immer einen hellen Punkt an der Konsole.
Zudem stößt der Schalter des 12V Steckers direkt an die Ablage an und somit kann man nicht einfach ausschalten.
Die 12V Steckdose im Tesla geht übrigens nicht mit dem abschließen aus, man muss also immer manuell das Teil ausschalten.
Für das was geliefert wird viel zu teuer !

The lights were relatively easy to install the yellow prying tool it comes with. I only installed the centre console lights as there is a little notch on the lights where you can slip into the edges. The centre dashboard strip requires some kind of sticky tape which I'm more hesitant on installing.

The only downside is that (from my experience) the lights don't seem to turn off when you leave the car and it locks. I have to manually turn it off.

I purchased these lights to compliment the LED's I already had installed. The installation was super easy - there was a QR code in the box which had a video showing exactly what to do and they look OEM. When they're off, you cant even tell they're there. It took about 20 mins to install and they look great in the car, especially after sunset. The lights are hard to see during the day, but create a nice ambiance as it starts to get dark. The app works really well, and you can choose any colour you want. The lights also change with your music if you want.

I've already recommended these to my friends with Model 3's, and everyone seems to love them.

Firstly, this was easy to install, in only watched the "Basenor" video on youtube, it took me around 5-8min
On the application, you can change the colours and the gradients of the lights, you can make it custom, that's a big plus
I modded my car exterior and I was looking for something to spice up my interior and this is a simple mod that adds up to the model 3.
Hope this review helps other TM3 Owners who were hesitating like me, there's a bunch of positive videos on youtube for this product, id say it's worth the price :)

ne tolle Idee mit Schwächen in der Umsetzung

Die Idee eine Ambientbeleuchtung im relativ dunklen Cockpit vom Model 3 zu haben war sehr verlockend. Die Lieferung erfolgt Amazontypisch schnell und der Einbau ist laut Video auch gut zu machen (Dauer ca. 25 Minuten). Allerdings hat das Produkt einige Schwachstellen, die bei dem Preis nicht sein dürfen:
- Am Übergang zwischen Lichtleiter und der Plastikführung (links vom Lenkrad) entsteht ein sehr heller Leuchtpunkt, der ablenkt.
- Auf der rechten Seite leuchtet ein ebenso heller Punkt direkt auf die Tür und stört das Gesamtbild.
- tagsüber ist die Leuchtkraft sehr gering, sodaß es kaum sichtbar ist (siehe auch letzten Punkt)
- Die Stromversorgung erfolgt über den Zigarettenanzünder in der Mittelkonsole, hier ist allerdings der Adapter zu lang, sodaß sich das Lichtband immer wieder einschaltet. Eine Lösung per USB oder ein kürzere Adapter sind hier ein Muss!
- Das Lichtband bleibt durch die Stromversorgung unbegrenzt eingeschaltet und entlädt somit die Batterie beim Abstellen z.B. über Nacht oder ähnlichen. In Verbindung mit der schwachen Lichtleistung tagsüber ist es sehr einfach das ganze eingeschaltet zu vergessen.

Also eine gute Idee, aber die Umsetzung rechtfertigt den Preis nicht.
