Blog postImagine you’re in a long, dark tunnel and the only sound you hear are the arrows of the enemy whizzing past your head. You search for light at the end that you have trouble distinguishing and stumble while groping for some semblance of deliverance—because surely there has got to be a ceasefire to this relentless onslaught. But what if the light isn’t at the end of the tunnel? Instead, you are the light—the only light some will ever see. If Yeshua/Jesus is in you and you are in Yeshua and cl1 month ago Read more

Blog postWe can settle in a place of peace, regardless of what’s going on around us. It might be our nature to desire delineations, even if we dive deep in the Spirit. We might want to see above the surface, or how far to the floor. We might yearn for a glimpse of what’s around or ahead of us. We think we need explanations. Lines and restrictions can give a sense of security… or control. But what if God is asking us to abide in the depths of his fathomless grace? Blog postThere’s a current onslaught of opposition in life for many. I’ve heard from others and have experienced this myself. One bad thing after another, making one feel like a walking piece of bad luck. Opposition can appear as fire, war, storm, pestilence, disease and/or chronic ailments, destruction (and sometimes construction), relational distress, broken possessions, unexpected debts, stuck-ness—i.e., impossible situations and you don’t know what to do, delays, malicious gossipers, unfair or u1 month ago Read more

Blog postI’ve heard this expression more frequently lately. It’s come from different sources and marked out a bit differently, but the message is the solid same: God didn’t call you to be good, he called you to be faithful. He didn’t call you to be successful, he called you to be obedient.
I’m not a proponent of pursuing fame or fortune. If it happens while you go about your business, super. You can do more for others if you’ve been gifted with much… Responsibility and all. But what if2 months ago Read more -
Blog postOn my shoulder, I feel… tap, tap… the prodding of the Holy Spirit, along with the words, “The time is 0400 in Davao.”
Oookaaay. I’m perplexed. I also have to look up as a refresher what 0400 means, as I don’t operate on so-called military time. As a courtesy, if you’re like me, that means 4 AM, lol.
Other cities and times are given to me over weeks, maybe months now, at different spots in my days. Even a waking in the middle of the night, I hear, “The time is 12:32 months ago Read more -

Blog postA few years ago, I sensed a shift in my spiritual journey. My dreams even changed. I heard drums in my sleep. At first, being of Jewish background, I thought they were Israeli, perhaps of Yemeni influence, since I had danced Yemenite-Jewish dances before—they are some of my favorites because of the percussion. And maybe my dreams began that way, but it became clear that what I was hearing originated from Native Americans. In one dream, I was walking in a cadence on one path at dusk, but when the6 months ago Read more

Blog postEveryone has a voice, but do we need to use it? Sometimes. But sometimes we use it way too much. When heated opinions take center stage. One roars like a lion until the other roars in response. Pretty soon, everybody is roaring. If everybody is roaring, we can’t hear each other. We cancel each other out, leaving nothing except loud chaos and whirling anger, with the risk of manifesting into damaging animosity. Sometimes… sometimes a period of silence is good medicine. Mitch finds a home in Africa, but is driven to serve God out of a guilt-ridden past. Hiding from wasted years spent carousing and chasing women, running from his weaknesses, he is stopped in his tracks when he meets the beautiful “Miss Sarah.”
Forced to serve together, they struggle through their crippling issues of trust and guilt. In the process, their faith is challenged. Together, in a harsh and often dangerous environment—including tribal skirmishes—they examine themselves, and learn that it takes more to survive than just a profession of faith. It takes the abandoned day-by-day trust in a living God. Sarah and Mitch become a sweet solace for each other and reach an understanding. They believe they belong together. But when the hindering issues of the past resurface stronger than ever, with a secret rising up to stand in their way, they find it difficult to carry on. Can they retain the power of love between them when they have so much to overcome?

In a year when thirty people jumped from San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge to commit suicide and succeeded, one person determined to join their throng.
Near light pole numbered sixty-nine, he swan-dives off the ledge, traveling at a velocity of eighty mph, free-falling 250 feet at low tide. Bound to converge on the despondent crowd of over 1,600 who preceded him in death since the majestic span erected in 1937, something shifts. Instant regret consumes him the second he unhands the viaduct. But the chance for survival after the four-second drop stands at less than one percent.
What if somewhere between his last contact with the steel bridge and the impact of the frigid, bone-crushing bay, hovers an alternative Courtroom in the Sky? A panel of Judges who reviews the motives in a person's life.
Here enters Ralph "Specter" Specht, the famous frontman for the rock band, Ghosts of Fleas. In the eyes of the world, he led a good life; talented, successful, and spoiled. Nobody thought he could do such a thing, fling himself over the edge, even him. Not until the dark impulse.
The defendant on trial crosses the threshold into weighted proceedings. With a blooming change of mind, Ralph wonders if he will find a different sentence than what he first intended. His verdict awaits.
By all outward appearances, among a religious community, Eliana's marriage to Jabez is good and righteous. But behind closed doors, it is harsh and stripped of joy—and few know the truth. Her husband, a leader of their worship temple, upstanding to his followers, treats her like an insignificant bug; at the same time, demands her attention while isolating her from others. A trapped, desperate, and lonely woman, Eliana cries out to El Roi, the God who sees. As the circus of days has turned into years, the petition of her lips continues to pour out from the secret chambers of her crushed heart. Hailing from a family of healers, the irony of her wounds nearly destroys her. She struggles to remember who she once was, her essence buried and unreachable.
As evil arises from the underground in blows of destruction to her people by the Darkolls—a race descended from dark elves and trolls—Eliana thinks she understands the violent history of the savage species. Until she's confronted by a Darkoll with an agenda. Eliana is weary of gruff males, yet that seems to be what she attracts: the cruel and manipulative ones who want to conquer the gentlehearted. She fears for her wellbeing, what little of it she has left.
With the Darkoll's eyes fixed on Eliana, she begins to see there is something deeper to him than what lurks in his ancient gaze; his heart speaks, too. And it comes in the gentle hush of a melody, carried by ravens and a prayer stone, telling her he's more than a strong-arm with a tainted past. That maybe El Roi has a purpose beyond what either of them could fathom, and it begins with the healing nature of something so very simple. Hope.
Choices make destinies. Destinies can also change.
The misadventure happened while on a spelunking trip in southern Turkey. An invisible portal sent me to the center of the earth, a place known as the abyss. There, I discovered an unsustainable culture existing for centuries; a race starving underground. What unfolded next came out of the Book of Enoch.
I encountered a savage giant and learned the truth on the origin of evil. He kept me alive, and I gave him hope. I'm not sure, I may have loved him. Frightful. Still, this strange event ends in tragedy, and yet with courage.
My frail mind won't wrap around what took place. The incident, and later the outcome. I've asked myself these questions: Will we have peace when none exists? Can we find the mercy of God extended toward a group of grimy, deserted, battle-weary subterranean outcasts? A cursed remnant of giants hurled during the Great Flood to the burial grounds of The Fallen. Fallen angels who had rejected their divine stations to corrupt earth, now imprisoned under the darkest valley, awaiting their final judgment.
Between the boundary of death and life I faced them and their predecessors.
Wish I didn't, except it birthed a purpose.
Or, as my surface friend, Bart, might say in one of his pub chats. "Hey, this woman I know got rocketed through a shaft to middle earth, fought in the land of the fearful dead, met living titans scrapping for escape—using her to get there—and survived to tell about it." Popping a few peanuts, he'd continue, "What do you think about religion?"
“I’m in love with a monster. That’s what people call him anyway: monster, murderer, kidnapper, torturer, sociopath, even the devil. His crimes are so terrible that he may be unforgivable. But I have come to know him as something else. I know him as God’s Treasure. And I’m not sure what to do about that. So, here’s my story.”
The dreaded Il-Bora, a magnificent winged creature, prophesied by Aria’s people as the one who brings death, watches the singer with intent. He is set to doom her by orders from his master, the evil serpent, yet her voice gives him pause. More than her voice. In fact, he is strangely drawn to the girl and finds, for the first time, unable to do his master’s bidding.
The Il-Bora is severely punished and tragedy strikes Aria’s village, yet somehow the two survive. The greatest calamity might be that she has come to adore the cause of her blunder, the winged man who’s stolen more than her voice, her heart too. And the Il-Bora? He’s beginning to comprehend a strange, new warmth. Love.
This is a coming-of-age, sweet and inspirational fantasy-romance novella.
Four maidens venture out, each vulnerable and alone. Risking everything, they set out in search for answers to end the evil sourced from the brothers.
The quests challenge the lives and minds of the maidens as they question motive. Are they still trying to save their people from harm, or futilely redeem heartless beings for the sake of love? Because somehow while daring, their hearts are stolen in what could be the quickest path to destruction, the greatest betrayal of all.
The Brother’s Keep is a compilation of four allegorical fantasy-romance novellas written from a Biblical worldview. Each novella focuses on one particular brother and one maiden in a specific domain. Fighting off a rogue bear that has terrorized the area is tough, but it's the least of her worries. Madeleine soon discovers she is not safe. There is a danger far worse than a restless bear. Someone is out to get her. People aren't what they seem. And she doesn't know who to believe anymore.
Set in the mountainous Pecos Wilderness of northern New Mexico; discover Madeleine's wild and desperate love for the Land of Enchantment, and the man who captures her heart there.
One choice changes everything.
